HELP!!!How many cfl bulbs is enough for 2x4 tent

A 2x4 tent is good for veg. But i use t5 bulbs instead of CFL. The cfl bulbs dont really put out a lot of light. I had 3, 100 watt Agrobrite bulbs in my 2x4 tent, I'm glad i switched and went with 8 25 watt t5 bulbs at 2 foot long. Better light penetration through the canopy that way. Also, in my travels around the inter web i found more suppliers of quality t5 bulbs over CFL with a built in ballist. But if going with a CFL is what you want i would look into the 250 watt bulbs put out by Agrobrite. They have them in both 2700k and 6500k.

Same with these guys I’ll say LED, it takes a little research to get the right ones. If your lazy then just go cmh. Never tried it but less heat then hps so it should be good

You may be able to deliver enough light using cfl's to veg a plant but it won't flower very well.
Using power metrics is a useful tool to estimate 'how much'.
Current tech leds-30 watts/sq ft
HID(CMH, HPS) and 'blurple' leds-50 watts/ sq ft
CFL- 60-70 watts(actual)/ sq ft.

i use cfls for my mother plants and clone babies but when flowering use leds screw in bulbs with the globes removed. Feit 100 watts in 2700k. i use twelve of the 1500 lumens for a space 2'x2.5'

If you are set on screw in bulbs grab some screw in led bulbs and construct a frame to hold them. They veg and flower well. Look up SILs (screw in leds)on icmag. A lot Of info and full grows with them over there.

I veg with the 9 watters,in a 2x4.

How many of these 9 watts please.

If hard set on FLOURO lamps , they do grow plants pretty well for what they are. I still use an 8 T5 lamp rig with mixed bulbs for tray starts / clones and rooters . So there are T5 rigs out there.

But if you are looking at serious growing .... CMH , HPS , LED ( bars / strips / boards ) , COBS
You will be doing a disservice to your plants if you skimp out on lighting. I used to do cfl for single early plant starts but you will do much better with appropiate lighting.
