3 or 5 gallon pots for autos????

I'm growing autos and have the room etc for 5 gal pots, is 5 gallon pots a lil overkill? If so I'll stick with my 3 gallon if they will be plenty, any help would be appreciated

That was my first grow.
I've since moved on to photos and hempy buckets

I hope my fist grow looks thts good I'm bout to drop em in dirt in a couple weeks or so,

Also, would it be ok to start my seeds after sprout straight into the 3 gallon pots without starting in solo cups, or is transplanting a must? I'd like to start out in the final pot if I can
