DIY with Quantum Boards

Now I’m considering the (2)- HLG-600h-54a, one for Each pair of 96v2’s.

These are only $40 more than the HLG-480h-54a drivers.

I could just dim them when not using a fan.

Or I could add another 96v2 later for a total of 3 boards per driver at roughly 200w per board ? Is that right ? Thanks for the help, trying to finalize my order.

Hi, I just bought 4 QB288 v2's with a HLG-480H-54B for veg(thank you cobkits!) and 4 QB288 v2 Rspec's(arriving tomorrow) . I'm looking for some advice as to what driver to buy for the rspec's. would it be best to get a single 600w driver or 2 smaller drivers? I also grabbed slate 2 heatsinks so cooling is covered. any advice for a noob is much appreciated.

Whoa I have NEVER seen someone put a female outlet on the output DC side and use a LAMP cord to plug into it to run as your Pos and Neg. I guess there's no reason it wouldnt work though. Gives you an easy and quick disconnect if you need it huh?
Very easy to take down and store in a box without disconnecting everything etc just unplug the lamp chords and wrap em up.

Also those if you using the qb96 wanted to turn you guys onto these. I’m not a light tech so I can’t say how much they give a little benefit but I’m sure they give enough benefits to be worth 12 bucks a piece. Easy to install. I like mine. Little reflector hood things for qb96

Tbone said this qb96 combo with that driver will get max watts off the 96s and easy to setup.
2x qb96
1 HLG 320h-54a

edit disregard the max watts part. Bad information that I must’ve incorrectly interpreted my mistake.

If you connect them in series you would be running them at about 2400ma each. That would give you a 2.4 μmoles/joule efficiency. You could buy a bigger driver and lose some efficiency or a smaller one and gain some. What space so you plan to cover with them ?
