Lol don't worry I'll be that other guy saying it
. Much like yourself I don't see a point in really debating it, but its always worth trying to share what gives us the best results, and I don't flush either.
I encourage everyone to try both techniques but you have to give both techs a fair chance in a fair blind test if you want the truth. I've been growing since 2005 and have tried lots of different experiments, a few in soil, but most in hydro. If you want to do a dark period give it a try, but without doing lab tests on your bud you won't notice the difference and even then its small. Do you understand the idea behind the dark period, what its supposed to do?
I tried flushing multiple crops and partial crops to see the differences in flavor or quality. Once I learned to grow better, and dry properly the quality and flavor of my weed went up. Flushing never impacted it at all.
Now you might say i'm just a guy that doesn't know what good weed tastes like, or I'm biased and can't tell the difference. But your wrong, My weed gets praised by patients, dispensary owners, compassion club members and managers, and all my friends but none of those people know I grow it so I know they aren't just being nice. The ONLY complaint I've ever had about my weeds taste came from another grower that specifically knows I don't flush. He always complained and told be I needed to flush for better weed. Well one day I told him hey guess what I started flushing this last crop, you should come try it. So he did and he raved about how much better it tasted. Well the kicker here is I never flushed it.....It was all in his head just like anyone else that thinks harvest flushing benfits the harvest.
There is nothing scientific about flushing at all it is the definition of broscience.
