Post your thoughts on these fixtures. About to take the leap...

Ok, so after much reading... you know... I've narrowed my choices down to these, amongst a couple of others. Let me know what you think.

CREE XP-E2 660nm 320w samsung lm301b Strip

AR4000 board (spider Farmer equivalent)

I'll be lighting up a 1m wide by 2m long area and It's gonna be either 3 of the top strip version. Which would give me a bar every 20cm or so.
Or 2 of the boards next to each other.

They'll be replacing 2x 400w HPS. How do you think I'll do out of this?
Am I on the right track?

You can get the spider farm off alibaba for cheap around $270 delivered for the 4000. I like the dimming better on a Meijiu 480w kit, plus the extra juice.

That AR4000 only has 872 LEDs(like four SF-1000 together on one light), whereas the SF-4000 on the Spider Farmer website and on Amazon has 1212 LEDs. Just thought it was worth pointing out in case you didn't notice.

Thanks Chris. You prefer the spread of these over the strips? You use these yourself?

Meijiu service has been good on the 4x320w kits I've bought. The heat sink is 15mm, while others are only 10mm.

So will the output of the strips I linked not be enough for any decent penetration?
This is where I'm a bit lost.

If they're the same diodes, why would they be a weaker light?

I purchased four 320w kits with 301h diodes. There holding up great. I run three in a 4x4 tent dimmed at a combined 500w, which gets 2lbs. The other 320w is in a 2x4 veg tent, and is totally killing it.

Strips and bar lights coverage is superior, unless you have a ceiling of coverage with boards. With strips and bars you can lower and dim to get max efficiency.

So if you could rewind, would you buy the strips over the boards to get that spread?

Ok I get that's more wattage for the money, but are you paying a premium for the spread coverage and heat dissipation of the bar style lights?

Bear in mind I was going to put three of the strip style into the same space as 2 of the board. I know I'd be paying a bit more to do so but I'm thinking this would give me a pretty perfect spread of light over that space.

Is there a loss on that option, other than the money?

I was in a hurry when I bought for my 4x4 space. I used to diy cobs, then boards came out so I bought a bc blonds game changer. Great light by the way, Its two 350w panels with a nice spread. So really I was filling out the other half of my 4x8 and the tree Meijiu 's I got for about $700 were in my range. If you Diy a strip build then your costs can be quite a bit lower than boards. Greengenes707 is doing builds with a type of x series extrusion, that makes like a spine for a frame. You can find him on youtube ass well as here.

just been watching those greengenes vids... looking for the strips though and theyre like rocking horse shit. Can't find them in stock anywhere atm

They are back in stock now. If you want them, I would buy them ASAP. They don't usually stay in stock for more than a few days it seems. Greengenes also sells 23" and 46" heatsinks on the PLC website.
