CREE CXB3590 drivers (Meanwell vs CF Grow)

How cold is cold? Whats your average day and night temps over there?

I mean if its cold then a 600w hps will light up a 1m x 1m tent really well. Since your growing autos you have less or no dark time to worry about heating the space. Use your QB when winter is over.

Heat can be a good thing. Sometimes we forget that in the pursuit of efficiency
Average temps for the next 3 months in my area are around 7-8°C (45°F) min, 15-16°C (60°F) max.

I might just do that... financially it looks like it's about my only option at the moment to beef things up somewhat. If it's too hot just with the HPS, I'll make do with the QB for full grow cycle and maybe just put the HPS on lowest dim setting to supplement at Flowering.

It would work, but the qb is better IMO
Are those Chinese QB or is that from hlg?
Not sure, it's an Australian seller on eBay (ledexpressaus), and the item seems hand assembled so technically I am buying local haha.. for the price I'd hope they are not cheap Chinese components as that was the whole reason I didn't spend half that same amount on one of these~

But I concede that I may have gotten slightly mugged here as well. Lighting is certainly a treacherous path for novice buyers to navigate..

It looks like it maybe, you can always hit up prawn and see what he can hook you up with just the price might go up if he has to build it a bit more

That isn't the one I got, description was too vague and I figured it had to be cheap Chinese knock-off parts.

This is the QB I purchased

Prawn I assume is @ Grow Lights Australia?

Yes prawn is great to get help from, they look like some of the Chinese ones but idk not and expert at all. 99% of the diy is more so watching a video on YouTube and plugging a couple wires in and your go to go. It’s not like your soldering diodes to boards and all that

DIY stuff is not an option for me at this point in time, I have no skills or equipment and my head is already exploding from basic horticultural information heh.
Hey man, do you live anywhere near Perth?

FYI I copied this from the Stockist section of the Grow Lights Australia website.

Assembled High Light boards with matching Mean Well drivers are available exclusively from Hydro Hill Hydroponics in Jandakot, Perth.

No I'm in Melbourne, and Hydro Hill don't have an online store but I should be fine to go with cutter.com.au or GLA when I'm ready to do this in future. I guess I could always sell my current lights down the track too, seems like interest in home growing Anything is skyrocketing at the moment (and indeed i'll be setting up a separate tent to grow some veggies too! :D). It seems like to make ones own QB, you essentially just need the boards, a heatsink, driver & rope-ratchet system (is that all?). But I thought surely there would be some additional tools required to get all that together besides just a screwdriver? If not, definitely an option for Grow #2 or #3..
