Plant concerns

It depends on what's in the tap water. If you're water is decent and not super hard and full of minerals, its totally fine. I use my well water that's slightly hard that has a pH of 7.2-7.5 depending on the time of year. The main mineral in mine is Ca, so I don't need to add any extra. But I do add Mg sometimes via epsom salt.

The microbes in organic soil will buffer the pH to some degree, but when you let the soil dry out completely, you are killing a lot of them. I try to keep my living soil moist, but not wet.
But doesn't keeping it moist encourage root fungus or something? N I've also read that roots grow best in dry dirt bc they spread out searching for water...

Yes, if you keep the soil too moist it can encourage bad fungi, but it can also encourage the good fungi and microbes to out compete the bad. As long as you have good drainage so the roots still get plenty of O2, I don't think it's an issue. With no-till, and living soil, I try to keep it moist since I'm trying to keep the microherd happy and healthy.

And yes, I think letting the soil dry out can make the roots grow faster as they search for water, but I don't think the plants will really grow any better. If I used chemical nutes, I would let the soil dry out more and just add more microbes back. Nothing wrong with chems, but I prefer organics. I think it's less work.

I do use chemical nutes
That works. Do you have any microbes to add? Also when using chemical nutes you want some runoff. Another thing is since you're doing soil with chemicals, you should water between feeding. That will help keep the salts from building up.

A lot of times fresh soil can be really strong at first, and lockout some of the nutes. So sometimes I flush it a bit first. FFOF is one that I run some water through first. If I was you, I'd just give them some plain water now with a bit of runoff and see how they respond. These are hardy plants, so don't stress too much.

Hey man thanks for that info! I literally just used nutes for the first time like weds n the next day my bubba kush was so damn perky I was shocked, so the day after that I transplanted, no I didnt even know u cld add microbes b4 we started talking, but back to the nutes, I already know u dont wanna give them to much but cld I comfortably go feed/water/feed/water on/off like that?

Ya. For microbes I use Earth Juice Biorighteous since I like the limited microbes in it. But lots use Great White, or Tribus. There's so many out there.

And ya, feed/water/feed/water, etc. You can add the microbes still when you do water only, and they would probably be happier in plain water than the feed water anyways.

Hey, how bout this light, I need another...or if it isnt any good cld u point me in the direction of an led that is?
Don't be fooled. That light is only around 100w, and some of that is powering the fan. Those are not nearly as efficient as the full spectrum white LED's. Plus the blurple light isn't easy to look at. Depends on your budget, but I would at least not buy a blurple. Spider Farm or Fissioning for budget lights, HLG or Timber for the expensive stuff. I gotta say those Fissioning lights look pretty impressive to me even though I've got a bunch of HLG's. I just kinda like the spread pattern, but I've never personally used one so I can't compare it to the HLG.

Budget isnt really to big of an issue when it comes to lights as I understand light is the most important part of the setup but I still have to be reasonable ya kno...I'll check out ur suggestions right now tho! :)

How bout this one?
That's a great light, I actually have 3 in 3000k. The only thing is you can't adjust the wattage. The light spread is wider than the 288 kits, but the kits are adjustable. And for a 4x4, I would want 4 of them. If budget isn't an issue I'd get the 550 Rspec, or one 260 for now, and add another 260 later. But that's me. You're in the right spot for advice. I'm sure others will chime in.

Yea, I dont really plan on having more than 2 or 3 plants at a time, like now I've got one bubba kush photo n one banana kush auto, I have one light n I want a better second one, maybe one for veg n one for flower for a constant grow, I'm not sure exactly how I wanna set it up just yet, suggestions on how to set up is also very welcome...but I do wanna be able to sustain my own habit, that is my goal, I'm not interested in selling or even sharing for that matter.
