Flowering day 40 and lime green leaves

Hi guys,

I used to use an autopot with soil and ph at 5.8-6.2 but since adding a timer i think I may need to give them a higher ph as they are being bottom fed every 3rd day and no longer sitting in water constantly?? I’ve tried raising ph to 6.5 but no change yet

its day 40 today (from 12/12 but we’re vegged for 6 weeks so pretty much flowered straight away) and the buds are very small compared to what I’m used to.

unknown strain from a friend of a friend. Leaves almost look Sativa but the plants stay small and bushy like an indica

most leaves on the inside of the plants have gone yellow and crispy And I’ve pulled quite a few dead ones off before taking these photos

I’m using mills nutrients

any help greatly appreciated

PS. All 12 of the plants are the same, I have another 6 ran off a different res and they are perfectly fine and thriving

Hard to tell anything as far colour is concerned as you’ve taken pics under HPS lighting.

I will knock the lights off tonight and use my flash on my phone if that would make it better.
They are a life green colour and the bottom and inner leaves are yellow and crisp/falling off

Usually light green and crispy leaves can indicate uptake issues with toxic salt build up usually more common when bottom feeding.

could be that all you need to do is change your res mixture up a little but a natural lighting pic would help for sure.

usually when multiple deficiencies are seen it’s either caused by under feeding or over feeding.

when using soil it’s easier to overfeed as the plants Roots are often sitting in solution.

I find the common cause is switching to bloom feed to early.

When they stretch they use the most amount of N in their life cycle. Just when it’s been depleted folk starve it of N and ripen it with P.

I finds its best to keep veg feed for 2-3 weeks depending on strain then go 50:50 for a week or so then final bloom.

That’s the feed chart I always go off, and I’ve never had a problem with going off these measures. A+B are always ran together and week 3 I will add C4 bloom feed

will emptying my res and just ph watering for a week be a better solution even in week 7 of flower? That would help salt build up?

Don’t forget this is an autopot system that feeds from underneath too. bongsmilie

I only use a veg formula so I couldn’t possibly comment lol.

but I agree people often switch to bloom foods too quickly and almost always use a BOOSTER too soon too.

The room where I grow doesn’t have a light. Should I just go in the tent a minute or two before lights on and take photos with the flash on my phone? Thanks

Usually as an HPS starts up you get a good 30seconds of some blue/white light that is good for pics.

or you can go in with an LED torch etc just before switch on.

Ive wondered about using veg only formula for whole cycle but ran into K issues so started to mix in bloom which corrected it.

im in coco.

so feed heavy Ca aswell due to the way coco holds onto Ca and gives back K.

I only use DUTCH PRO HYDRO COCO A/B mono Ca and Mono Mg.

obv ph up down

I wish they looked as good in real life as they do on these photos.... they are all pretty much the same colour it’s just the lights changing colour as they warm up... any more thoughts?

I thought I only had 2 weeks left but as you can see from some photos, the top colas are tiny for 40 days of flower! Thanks guys

also, I know one of the tents is a mess, the pebbles are crushed into the kingspan sheets I have on the floor, making it incredibly hard to clean/vacuum. I’m changing it on next grow

To me it looks more like a lack of N and or Fe and or Mg.

it could be caused by over feeding high PK nutes or with a pH imbalance in the root zone.

I can’t understand what I’ve done differently between the two reservoirs. The other 6 I have on the same feed etc are absolute animals.

Am I too far on in the grow to change this? It’s day 42 of flower

Should I just water with ph’d water for week 7?

This is where it gets harder for me to advise you properly.

autopots - never used
Soil - never used.

if this were my garden I would flush my Coco with a 0.4EC solution of base nutes and then pick up feeding at the strength I was before making sure I was using a heavier N base feed.
