Please judge/criticize my first tent setup

I definitely would not say everyone.
I left some room in there for those who do it right from the start.

I think it’s safe to say that a huge percentage of new growers, who buy pretty much anything but HPS for their first light, buy a light that isn’t even close to what they need.

They do research, then go on Amazon and read the manufacturer blurbs, read 5star reviews by first time buyers in awe of their new light in veg.
Looks like the right lights, looks like a good fan rating or filter at half the price. It's hard to believe a bunch of crazy stoners who give it one star.

I would't worry about lights or fan bearings giving out, they will see why thats important shortly. Its getting them to stop using tablespoons of nutes and barrels of water thats hard to break

Yes, those are the lights I'm running.

Ok - that is great to know. So Ill look at hanging 2 more of those in my tent.

Ya.... I'm a newb. Oversight like yours is invaluable. Thanks for helping me try to figure out what I'm doing
It looks like your about to get pretty serious about your grow so if I were you I would go with CMH/HPS lights. Looks like a 6” exhaust right? Save those lights for you veg tent or something but if you want some nice bud either you drop a ton of money on a good LED or you go HPS which IMO grows better bud and is the choice of most growers in flower.

Maybe a 4” but non the less but a good light good to exhaust all the hot air from your HPS lights and you will rock some nice bud

And about your heater...oil heaters are really the only thing you can safely put inside a grow tent. I strategically place my tents under basement registers that are in the ceiling for heat or air conditioning so and rely on the intake/exhaust fan setting to fine tune

Thank you for this. Still trying to figure out my setup. Currently just 1 tent. Considering getting one more tent to streamline the process (either for drying or for flowering).

As a medical patient, I can only grow 5 plants (at any stage) legally.

I suggested those COB LEDs they just got. They were looking for inexpensive lights to add in because they didn’t get powerful enough lights to begin with. I’ve been running two of them in my 4x4 for two years and they have been great for flower. It’s definitely not as good as you can get with quantum boards, but they are cheap enough, and good enough, to get them buy until they can afford something better.

I'd go with the biggest exhaust/filter you can fit on a tent that size for flowering, same with a couple intakes.
Biggest ductwork you can cram in those holes
It just makes things so much easier to manage down the road.

Those aren't bad COBs spectrum wise, they are 50 watt but it takes 60 watts each to run the cooling fan, power conversion, and Cob. Just inefficient but quite usable.
That's why I suggested a fan placed above them to help cool and extend their life.

Yeah, I bought them to get me buy and was pleasantly surprised at how well they worked for the price. I’m finally getting around to ordering the parts to build a more powerful setup. I kept putting it off because I was pretty happy with the results I was getting with those lights.

Well that’s a huge damn tent. I have a 5x5 for flower with 11 plants in it and a 4x4 for vegging. I wish I had more room. I would grow 20-30 plants in that tent lol

I’ve had one in my sunroom for 10 years. Never had an issue with it. They will rust, though, if you don’t keep them clean. Maybe theirs rusted out and leaked from it?
Both mine I ended up with oil all over the place. No fire... but was horrible. 2 times in a row... never again
