Yesterday around 2pm I started the germination process with two seeds I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to grow them to best
When reading make sure that the info is specific to your variables, there are many. And that the info is current because the science has and is evolving.First: Welcome!
Second: Read, Read, Read, Look at pics, Read some more, contemplate, Read, Look at more pics, and then finish with some more reading.
That's what I did for about my first month of growing. There is literally every question that's been answered already on this forum. Use the search button up top, and read what others have done.
Long story short: There is no right way, and unlimited wrong ways to do this hobby. You'll learn better from experience, and by reading what others have done.
There have been dozens of times that I have wanted to ask a question, and then popped in here and searched and found my answer. A few times, I'll ask for clarification on my findings, or in rare cases, times when I've not found specifically what I was looking for, but there's a wealth of info here for you to help you on the journey.
Good luck!
100% this!I read Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook.
I know some people think he's outdated but something about his writing style just really helped everything make sense to me.100% this!
Times HAVE changed, but there are a lot of basics covered in the book that kinda jumpstarted my knowledge. It was a $10 purchase on my Kindle that I read in about 48h. Like I said...kind of a jumpstart to get me pointed in the right direction. From there, the knowledge here brought me up to current ways of doing things, and then I just augmented and filled in the gaps. Great suggestion.I know some people think he's outdated but something about his writing style just really helped everything make sense to me.
People can think whatever they want. But there's nothing outdated about growing killer weed without all the broscience and overpriced crap people dump on their plants today. Many people would benefit from growing with a more minimalistic approach. Unfortunately today many people get their knowledge from some dude on youtube with crispy fried plants and some ridiculously convoluted method. Or they get suckered in by some growshop video pushing the highest margin products delivered by some dude that resembles a car salesman. True story.I know some people think he's outdated but something about his writing style just really helped everything make sense to me.
I couldn't agree more. There are so many horrible growers out there who think they are masters at growing. This video is a great example. This guy is "reviewing" a CO2 can and claiming he can see a lot of improvement in his plants after 3 days. His plant looks like like garbage and looks like it's in the middle of reveg even though it's an auto. He's also on "Team Mars Hydro" according to his IG account.People can think whatever they want. Congrats OP hope it goes well.Yesterday around 2pm I started the germination process with two seeds I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to grow them to best
That's exactly what I'm talking about. Some dude on youtube with crappy plants pushing some overpriced and unneeded product. So many new growers think that crappy looking plants look great. I was reading one post awhile back where the guy had plants that looked like total garbage and everyone was giving him accolades. I made a comment that the plants looked like crap and got a very chilly reception despite the fact that I was the only one saying the truth.I couldn't agree more. Yeah, I commented on his post on reddit and I'm just waiting for the downvotes. I tried to be as nice as possible and told him that, while I admire his excitement and willingness to share his grows with the world, he needs to understand that plant looks horrible, and that he needs to learn a lot more before he makes videos like that especially while acting like that is a healthy plant. That's exactly what I'm talking about. There are just too many people out there listening to and believing like gospel the word of idiots, then touting the idiotic nonsense like it's the only way out there. Have they done side-by-sides? Nope! Have they done a lick of real research? Nope! They often just grab onto one idiot's idea is the only way to grow, when they've never even grown so much as a tomato plant, let alone cannabis before. That's exactly what I'm talking about. The sad thing is those people are also the ones who refuse to listen to anyone and try to ridicule anyone who tries to correct them. I used to get baited into those arguments on Reddit all the time until I realized I just need to warn the new growers and ignore the idiots. One asshole told me I didn't know shit, because I've only been growing for 2 years and he had a degree in botany. About week later he made it abundently clear he was probably on his 1st or second actual grow based on his lack of knowledge. When people called him out on it he disappeared for months. Come to find out...he thought he was a master grower because he worked in a grow op as a helper for a little while. There are just too many people out there listening to and believing like gospel the word of idiots, then touting the idiotic nonsense like it's the only way out there. Keep telling the truth. Even if just one person understands that the newest $500/gallon placebo water isn't needed, or stripping a plant of all of its fan leaves is a negative, or trying to grow in concrete won't work, it's worth it.
Thank you because of your help I have managed to fix any mistakes I was makingCongrats OP hope it goes well.
Please watch this multi part series on YouTube which I believe you may find very informative.
No worries, amigo. Enjoy the process!Thank you because of your help I have managed to fix any mistakes I was making
