I swear stores don't carry shit any more. I couldn't find the fucking wire I needed in Home Depot so I had to rig em up on the hangers with fat zip ties until I can get some through the mail. This should be good for now until I get em remote wired right?

IMO dont go home depot or box store for wire. The temperature ratings on the insulation are not appropriate specially for cobs, you may be ok for boards where the connectors are mounted some distance from the led but almost everything in the box stores is going to be trailer wire. There might be some secuurity wire that would be appropriate but wire gauge is not the only consideration to make. Go to an electrical supply center ask for AWM appliance wiring material with a temperature rating higher than what you expect the junction temp to be. I was able to find some with a 105C rating.

Hey everyone, we've run out of UV boards and single heatsinks. Parts are on their way and we should have a new run of boards and heatsinks by the following week. Apologies for any inconvenience in the mean time.
Wooo Hoooo! Thats a good thing. Next step US and EU distribution centers?

BTW if anyone in US (or anwhere else for that matter) is concerned about the customer service provided by GLA, I assure you they are top notch. They are as concerned (or more) as you are about any issues that may arise during the use of thier product.

how are you guys hanging with covid? Guessing new stock will be delayed somewhat?
Yes and no. We've had a new shipment of heatsinks this week, so we're now carrying single and double heatsinks. We still don't have any UV boards, but some of the PCBs also arrived this week, so if worse comes to worst we have enough PCBs to make a small run, but ideally we'd like to do everything at once as it's obviously more cost-efficient. I'm hopeful of having new boards online at the end of next week, but it's hard to say. A couple of weeks ago I was saying the same thing

It's not that we can't get anything made, but shipping is now the issue as a lot of courier freight goes on passenger aircraft with spare capacity, but there are few (if any) passenger planes flying in and out of China now, so that's where the real hold-up is.

45 days since flip, got the light up higher finally. little too long at where they were, but plants seem to be ok.

hope everyone is well in these strange times..
Gotta be happy with those! Those buds look like they're coming along nicely and won't take too long to finish. Very frosty.

Yes, it is possible to give them too much light. LED light can be deceptively strong. I don't think that's light bleaching though, as some of those plants look like they might need a little PK boost. Most of our customers are also reporting they need to add a little extra calcium, and to a lesser extent magnesium, especially if they are growing in coco, but we have seen it in other hydro mediums as well.

yeah man I understand. I’m still waiting on parts myself for various projects. If you do end up making a small batch of uv boards let us know. This grumpy prick from nsw will definitely grab one

Most definitely am happy with everything so far and appreciate the feedback. Any advice is helpful as I'm still getting a feel for growing in general. I can read all the articles I want, but hands on experience and advice is what I crave now. Yea I should have went a little heavier on the top dresses, along with trying to keep an optimal watering schedule (maybe the biggest issue to be honest), looking back as these are pretty small pots of organic soil. I did just hit them with a kelp meal tea with a little coconut powder, so hopefully that will help with some deficiencies even if it is pretty late.

Hey guys,

wanted to share my little build that I completed a little while back.

I snagged a few boards and wanted to put up a test run until we can settle into a new home.

Running 2 high light UV boards with a HLG -240H-48B, and there is a HLG 100 4000K nestled in the middle. Sourced dimmers from RapidLED

I think I saw that on ebay. A PWM should dimm to all the way down to off, sounds like it's malfunctioning or damaged.
90v is a common voltage for dc motors so I searched for "PWM controller 90v" and found this.

got my dimmers all wired up and secured in project boxes. They test fine and dim all the way to 0. Using the kill a watt i can see where i'm at with radiance on each channel. Thanks for all the help.
I am thinking that this customization is gong to be a major move towards the dank.

I am super appreciative of the knowledge sharing. I doubt i would have made a correct diagnosis on my own.

No pic because it looks crazy as 1585604915244.png

Speaking of dim..... lol.

Thats great, thanks for the reply. Good to know it works ok, it could really help some people out.
Seems perfectly function-able. I ran each cob only long enough to check out the watts while calibrating using the kill a watt. So it wasn't a legit test. I'll have a plant in there in a couple weeks. After a month of 18 hour days I'll have more confidence everything is cool.

Viewing that vid posted above from Valoya i am glad i didnt swap out my 4k cobs.

With the ability to customize a blend of 1750, 3k and 4 k spectra and intensity while hanging the fixture up high i think ive got good potential.
