One more thing I have an 8” exhaust with three air cooled reflectors.. I have it on a control switch where I can control the speed.. I have the temps at 28 but my humidity is sitting between 30 40 % will this be ok

It all depends on the temperature and humidity of your grow environment, as well as whether you're using air-cooled lamps or not.

Can you tell us more about your environment? If so, just go full out: temps, humidity, air cooled or not, inline fan/filter, water pH, medium etc.

I grow in a basement with several tents (two flower tents). My basement is 52-54F. I have air-cooled hoods, but they are not attached to my air exhaust system. I keep my tents at about 77F, and in my 600W tent, the lamp is about 6" from the top of the highest cola, which is approximately 12" from the rest of the canopy. Pretty well the same in my 1000W flower tent.

My humidity is 60%+ at lights off, and 35-45% at lights on.

If you can get the humidity up a bit, that'd be best, but I say you're ok.

Put your hand, palm down on top of your plants. Lower your lamp until it is a tad bit uncomfortable on the back of your hand. Raise the light 4".

If you have a fan providing air movement at around the top of the canopy, you're golden.

All this of course is based on the fact that you're not sacrificing light to the outside perimeter of the plants just to get the light closer to only a few plants.
