On my first grow i did some soil tests, not by a lab but by growing some mj in different types of soil. It's amazing how stunted a plant can be in the wrong soil. Use higher end soil with a good name, invest in a $20 ph and $10 tds meter and dial both soil and water in and you'll see noticeable results. Make sure temps are about 26-28 c at lights on and a min at 20 c at night, humidity above 40% as a minimum. Can't really offer much more as I don't know all the details of your grow.

As long as ur soil is good, in a 3.5-5 month grow period your probly much better off running a 5-10 gal over a 2-3 gallon pot size, bit more water in the end yeah but u will be watering at less intervals eventually and much easy to clean out deficiciencys when ur roots have more room to develop, but yeah next time I’m not going to start my seeds in a 7 gal lol il be starting my next batch in solo cups an 1gals and upsizing the cups to 1-2 gallons and transplanting em outside from there @ 1.5 months old ish and when the time comes they will be happy to be leaving the small little 1 gallon container for sure, they love to have space

What I’d like to see is a pic of an array of plants under cheap t5 lighting becuz ima be starting all my babies for outdoors under a few strips of that in la boxed off area like a 3.5x3.5 ish maybe bit bigger, looking to have like 4 diff strains maybe 10-12 plants altogether I’m gonna start out and plan to take 2-5 clones off the best 4 er 5 plants out of 12 let’s say...to end up with roughly 25-30 to put outside.. what the cheapest way to veg a dozen 30-40 inch plants, I don’t even care if there a bit weak and lanky either btw I can fix all that after there transplanted outside the first of June.

These were vegged under T5's. T5's definitely work for vegging.
