The Johnston program is pretty much a develop your own degree program. You do have to get approval of the coursework and all that noise, but you can literally make your own degree. My fiance attends the school and has friends in the program.
And you're right, it's UC Riverside that's got the greenhouse. What we have at Redlands is more of a huge outdoor garden with a glass roof, plus an orange grove off to the North side of the campus.

there are make your own major deals at some colleges. Whittier College back home in SoCal has a make your own major program. Don't know much about redlands though.

No, I live in an 800sqft apartment, paying $1500/mo in rent. I own a Ford Taurus, 1998. I make only about 40K a year, but my grandfather's stock which I've inherited has done reasonably well, down to the point where I can almost live off the interest alone. Until I can, though, I work. I work HARD.
Basic supply and demand is pointless. There's ALWAYS a demand, it's the supply that's not guaranteed.
