Fragile back at it. DIY RDWC with the things.

LST + topping once = easy 8-16 main branches. A simple walkthrough of how I train.

-grow out some seeds or clones for a few weeks. I got lucky on these 4 and they all had right about the same number of nodes.

-defoliate and lay the plant down on its side. This is very easy in hydroton. Be gentle. If you scoop out some of the top hydroton and give it a wiggle, you can position it however you want. I also choose to remove the stuff at the very bottom of the stem. Usually 2-3 sets that are small and haven't grown into much. I remove all of the leaves on the main stem.

-Top the plant! I will leave 4-8 nodes depending on what I want to do that run. These plants were trimmed and topped to be left with 5 pairs of branches off the main stem.

-Let it recover. After laying them down and topping them, I let them recover for a few days until they start growing back up to the light.

-Tie her down! Pretty simple. I use rubber coated wire made for this purpose. It holds very well. A little hook between the 4th and 5th nodes did the trick here.

About another month to go, I'll share plenty of pics just stay tuned. I upgraded my lights some during this crop, so I'm kinda curious myself.
I just use tap water. I have very clean tap though. So low I still add calmag a lot of the time.

I am a little green with envy I am not going to lie but I wouldn't be able to smoke all the produce and it would make me nervous as hell growing all those plants in a backwards country like mine where it's still illegal (and not going to change anytime soon), I'm paranoid growing just 2 plants

Count wise im legal. 12 veg or 6 flowering at a time. I have a high count card too.
I let this one get a little bit bigger than I meant to, so ill probably going to have to give some away in the end.
I smoke at least an oz a week sometimes up to 2 when its readily available. A lot of this crop will probably end up as edibles or extracts if I can afford to build my press any time soon.

I have 16 304 "plus" china boards from meijiu.
1760w of samsung 561c and epistar 660nm diodes.
Had metal frames for them but they were flimsy so I just screwed them to some wood and its worked great so far.

Gotta pay to play... But again, I live on a fixed income. I just shop smart and DIY. Yes theres thousands of dollars of stuff down there, but that was spread out over like 2 years.
I have under $1500 into my whole light setup. For the size it is, its way less than someone would spend doing a similar setup with HLG stuff.
Everything I spent on setup was paid for after my 2nd crop.

hmm, let's see. me and wifey were doing a qp every 5 weeks. so 400 per qp 10 times a year. so 4000 total.

everything looks like a good investment at this point, no?

Plus concentrates and edibles. Trying to make a press sometime this year to press my own rosin.
If I go priced on what im spending an oz, I saved around 10 grand in my first 2 crops alone.
I havent totaled it up in a while, but I know all together ive spent over 6k at this point with all the experimenting and changes ive made.

ive done it on a smaller scale and its quite good. Some of the most flavorful stuff ive ever dabbed.
I rigged up a small arbor press with plates from a hair straightener years ago. It was great for pressing a few buds at a time.
Ive eyed a washing machine hash setup before, but it seems like more work to get to the final product. All of my trim so far has been given away or thrown in the trash.
