I have a 50 watt flood bulb and cheap grow light..
Timmer set on 18 and 6

You should keep the 18/6 schedule for another month. Post some pictures in 2 weeks. Then again in 4 weeks.

If you want a decent yield, that's my suggestion.

I was thinking about topping and placing a net ove it once it's about a foot tall, would that be good timing...

You have a cheapo light that isn’t delivering a lot of light.
It sounds like you want to do a scrog. You need more light to succeed at that.

if you stick with that photon drizzler, you can top but the net is a bit optimistic.

well from 2 to 3 weeks it will start to pre flower or if you not lucky will be male.
