i dont think the folds will creat hotspots but its not fact.. i would try it and see. unless your putting them within 6 inches of the plant i wouldnt worry bout hot spots anyway.... think of the mag glass and the ant? you have to get the bitch pretty dam close to burn the ant?

Trial an Error is the only way to know if something works... then change it up and find something that works better... besides alum. foil should be cheaper in the long run and comes in rolls...

Believe it or not, but it would be more effective on your plants if you just taped a
whole bunch of typing paper together than the space blanket that you bought.

I agree all those creases and wrinkles greatly diminishes whatever reflective property it might have, flat whit works like a charm

Everyone is tripping. Its emergency blanket. Its fine. More reflective then flat white paint less reflective then Mylar.

You'll be fine with that.

lol only 150w hps and 3 plant blue spectrum, its workin fer now, working on getting another ballast for 150

i figure give it red spectrum to make them grow taller, as there blue light makes em busy so it gets a nice height with a lot of new shoots n nodes,

and then at flower just all hps

Only entirely smooth surfaces will create hot spots on plants. The more crinkley the better. Many many people use these blankets and they are a great/cheap way to go until you can afford an alternative.

Puff-puff - pass!

Can anybody show some proof that these blankets are more reflective than white. And if you crinkle some mylar it will lose reflectivity. Hot spot are created by materials that shouldnt be used like mirrors and aluminum foil
