Few problems Cold basement room Intake/outake

Hello fam i had a problem i am growing in a tent in basement room with cold floor i was worried about low temperatures for roots so i placed wooden palettes so i think it would solve the problem (hope so)

The real problem is i can only intake fresh air from same room where tent is (air temp 20 degrees Celsius) and extract air to next door room with window. Question is would it be better to extract in same room where tent is and intake from next door room with window.

I am slightly worried about temperatures i am running 2x 600w hps and temperature on lights on is from 29-31 degrees Celsius. Plants are in week of veg and looking healthy. But i an looking and planing bit ahead cuz this Temps won't work when i switch to flower.

Thanks for your opinions and answers. Stay high and much love ❤

My input is get an insulation board to place under the tent. Keeps the bottom warm. Also you may want to run a heater to keep the room warm at lights out.

The problems arise when the lights go off and you have ample biomass (often early to mid flower) transpiring humidity. Lights out temperature drops cause RH% to spike. Can't stuff a dehumidifier in the tent very easily.

Usually the solution growers in your situation (cold basement / tent) come up with is having to warm / dehumidify the room the tent is in and recirculate the tent exhaust into the room.

Recirculating the heat from the lights generally heats the basement somewhat when the lights are on, the dehumidifier provides some heat when the lights are off but you may need a little more heat depending on how cold it is and how large the basement room is.

The foam board insulation @Skoal mentioned is the way to go for under the plants/tent.

I run in an unfinished basement and this is what I ended up doing. I added some vents from my furnace ducting and eventually found a nice balance that keeps it nearly 75F down there with the rest of the house 67-70F.
I have the opposite issue of a dry climate and have to humidify the room until I get into flower. Keeping the heat up and the size of the plants keeps humidity up on it own then.
Its in the 20s and 30s mostly so the heat runs a lot, this is my primary air exchange. When it starts warming up and the heat isnt needed, I run the furnace intermittently on fan. I dont like to open windows.
Theres snow on the ground outside but my unfished basement is 75F/45% currently.

I'm in an uninsulated new england basement also. I put down some rigid foam insulation under the pots to keep the concrete temps off the plants. I also added a space heater in the tent on an external controller. Same with an exhaust fan on a humidity controller.

Right now, my basement is about 30% rh, so I don't need to vent a lot of air to control the tent.

One other thing you can do is add some 730nm led's that come on at lights out for 15 minutes or so. It speeds up the plants sleep cycle and stops transporation quickly. Humidity will spike when the lights go out because the plants continue to transporate and the temps drop. They don't realize its night right away. The far red is a sleeping pill of sorts.

Hi guys thanks for all the answers i did get a insulation foam to put it under pots.
With lights are off i don't have temp. problems because i switched cycle so lights are on during night when its colder. So tent temp is 26-27. but from 08am-11am Temp rises to about 29-30.9 Celsius. I have cli mate duo controler for my fans so its set to keep humidity around 45%, when lights are on and i run humidifier. if not it drops below 30%. I dont have problem for dropping humidity when lights off because i have really strong fan 900cfm

What i am surprised by is this. today when in tent is usually the hottest i turned off intake and extract fan and only run 2 monkey's with tent door wide open temp was 25 and humidity 42% (with humidifier) but that can not be a solution trough whole cylcle because when i flip i don't want to odor to make trough whole house.

The space heater is something that you should run regardless. Keep the bottom of the pots warm with the insulation boards. But for the overall temps when lights go out. Heater is the best bet. I’m in a finished basement. But my plants sit in the back room that’s unfinished. The utilities room. I leave a space heater outside of the tents and let it warm the overall temp of that room where the tents are. Heater has a built in thermostat and kicks on at about 27C to keep everything warm. Don’t want it to get too cold during lights out which can cause PM which I had issues battling.
