supplemental lighting during veg?

I was wondering if there would be any benefit to running any of my supplemental lighting during veg. I had to move some girls into the flower tent to finish vegging, but I have nothing in flower at the moment. My SF1000's are pretty good for veg as well, so i'm good there. Would any UV (any spectrum I have them all pretty much), or any red like far red help? Going to be a bit till I flip so they have some time to grow.

Not sure you'd want the red during veg, may cause unnecessary stretch. I use blue supplements with my HLG288 3000K.

Yeah that's what I figured. I did make this specifically for flowering, and I don't ever plan on it being empty again. The 4x SF1000's will do just fine finishing the veg. I can add more straight 3000k if I need to, but not sure how long I am vegging these, so don't want much stretch, but i'd rather stretch from 3000k light than from not enough light

If it were me id use the extra light. You should increase your plant size and root size thus increasing stash size. Different strains will stretch under lights that make others stack short so i wouldnt bet on anything, unless your familiar with it. I think lumens are most important during veg, followed by spectrum.

I've vegged with HLG 3000k, and didn't notice too much stretch. A lot less stretch than t5's. I don't have any lights above 3500k now except the t5, so I can't really tell you how much less stretch you would get going a little higher in the kelvin rating on the LED's.

So far I only gave them an extra 150W of 3000k. The lights are super far away though, as I did not build the height adjustment yet, getting there. They seem to be very happy

It depends what you want from your plant.. I mean you could use 730nm Red and the strai reacts right to it it will want to bush out and broaden its leaves...then when you switch to flower you have huge solar panal like leaves, but again not good for scrog or sog cos those wonderful leaves will block more light lower down her mast. What goal are you looking to achieve..?? - STELTHY :leaf:

think you can try some 365/380 UVA.
you may have some positive effect if you dont blast them with it, a few watts.
pls share your findings:)

I did a almost SOG type thing, but this time I won't be using a screen as the tent will now be perpetual. I have 3 tents, one for each stage. Was hoping to harvest about 4 plants a month, looking for at least an ounce per plant dried and cured, easily doable.
I am thinking about building 2 more screens so I can have 1 screen for each cycle. For the moment, no screen.
