Greenpoint Seeds the more you know

Many of us have tried Greenpoint seeds. Be aware they want to make money and are under no obligation to be truthful or honest on their website. Cant 100% trust the pictures nor the write ups.
If you are new to growing and to cannabis you will likely be happy as you haven't experienced fire shit yet. If youre commercial this could break you and make for a wasted season.
I have first hand experience. First year my partner bought about 150 seeds various strains. Some were fire, some good enough, others went straight to extract.
The next year i decided to try their feminized seeds in a dep run. Total loss. None of the strains were feminized. Had males and females no herms. Wouldn't have been too sad but none of the strains were as advertised. Gg4, dosidos, gelato and triangle kush were worse than ditch weed. Weak sickly plants that made zero,ZERO, bud. I have a hard time just culling females and let them try and finish as best they can. Good for a laugh and a story of getting fleeced. GU admitted they fucked up the feminized seeds but I had to reach out. They werent trying to put the word out like a recall, that looks bad on them and then loss of revenue with comps to pissed off growers.
The next year me and a buddy spent thousands at various seed banks including greenpoint. Probably 50-100 seeds from 20 plus of their strains. I warned him and he saw my feminized dep plants from greenpoint, so he knew what he was risking. We wanted to pheno hunt for elite mothers for clones and breeding etc. But results all over the place. In a climate control greenhouse for germination, some seeds had poor germination, other strains way to many males. Flowering was ok. Some high grade, but most was reggie commercial quality from greenpoint seeds. Our fire units did not come from greenpoint seeds though. Not a total loss but seriously disappointing in the quality of greenpoint seeds genetics.
So if your a newbie theres small risk in using them. If youre commercial grower there's much better seed banks to stake a full term season on.

It definitely seems like a sock acct....not mine....but maybe someone else gu pissed off

No commercial grower is running seeds as their main cycle. I’ve got a space to hunt through gear, it’s a 5x5 that runs 10-20 strains at a time. Flowering room....cuts. Uniformity is pretty important in commercial grows

For sure thats great advice for everyone. Ive just had the most headaches or lackluster results from these guys. If i had gone all in on full term with feminized woulda been broke and homeless lol! And the pheno hunt we knew it was looking for elite, the absolute best which that one is likely in the seed pack you didn't buy.

Running seeds in a commercial operation is not the best way to do things. And your story is a great example of why you don't run seeds in a production crop. At least not pot seeds, too much variation.

Those "feminized" seeds were actually bulk hemp seeds and everyone gave Gu a world of shit about not contacting folks about it.

Enough to scare me off as a custie.

First year was medical gardens. 6 gardens. Full term 96 plants each garden. Start a nursery sex em early and plant females. Its pretty simple, old school way. Dont have to maintain clones so you can vacation dec-jan. When i breed my seeds ive got one mom one dad. So my seeds are usually perfect looking F1s or show two similar phenos that either pull to dad or mom but not that much different that you cant put it all together as one strain.
Theres a lot of benefits to seeds versus clones.
For a dep run why not run feminized! Well the S1s are as inbred as you can get. And many rimes wrak plants. When ive made feminized its been F1s of true hybrids or F1s from sisters not a clone into itself. This was done by rodelization. Indoors, no chemicals used. Like i said there was no herms but true males and females. 7/10 male female ratio. The females i left in 7 gal bags and moved to the full term garden as having a mostly empty hoophouse wasnt worth pulling tarps for.
And the pheno hunt. Well its hunting. Sometimes you get your buck, other times not even glass on a target you know. That was not our full term project was looking for elite females. And sometimes you dont have it. They may be good but not elite.

Which fem seeds? I cannot risk it.

They are good enough. But too few are fire. 2019 season for example one of their chinook crosses, 120 seeds popped and there was 4 phenos in the sisters. Couldn't mix the units without looking camo or uniform. Then im left with the pheno (s) that you got to mark down a point or so to move. My experience and other friends is there's better seed companies with more uniformity in their strains.

This was 2018 season. Hopefully they dont have that batch for sale.
Mine were Gorilla glue 4, gelato, do-si-dos, las vegas triangle kush.
Las Vegas Triangle Kush is bred by Cannaventure and is straight gas. If you pheno hunted just that pack of beans, the odds of finding a legit keeper is actually pretty good

Well, guess i got lucky then. My 37$ fem bag of (i swear i feel it was like x8 seeds, maybe im tripping) gave me some of the best tree i ever grew & i only grew x2. Both good, 1 Super-Keeper. X3 more about to flower. Fingers crossed!
W/ then w/o flash.

Why, after the first run, would you go right back and run his gear again? and if the second run went so bad , and you spent "thousands" the next year, I would assume you are retarded, to give any money to that same breeder, third year in a row...I gave some greybeard "private label" seeds i will sell you cheap...might be as labeled, might be hemp...only the shadow knows

Ha ha ha.No not retarded at all. Maybe i wasnt clear about the last time i tried them. Maybe it was too long a post for you to read. Maybe both. But see you just want to make money too lol.
First time regular seeds, meh results, some good most ok. Second time "feminized" I got screwed.
Third time we went with regular seeds definitely not feminized seeds and was mixed results. My buddy really wanted to try them out and being thrifty would stay up late on reverse auctions. I did not put all our hopes on GPS and also ordered from other breeders and seed banks.
Like i said GPS has good and good enough strain quality along with some losers. But other breeders have better uniformity and better strains. Better being yeild, bag appeal, recognized breeding and enjoyment smoking it. You cant trust the site 100%. Informed risk taking.
