What do you use to catch water dripping out of your pots?

This has been a huge issue for me!

I am using a large storage container without the top right now. It's one of those under the bed ones so it's only like 7" tall, but it isnt working out like I planned.

First off it restricts me as to where exactly I can move my plants. second if you need to dump excess water you have to remove every plant then remove it. This is a nightmare especially since its a tight space where my cabinet is.

Is there a company that sells square things similar to the round dishes you see everywhere?

It's really starting to annoy me. I gotta figure out something soon =O

can you rig up some tubing to another bucket and siphon it out, or is your setup already too low for a siphon to work?

You can use aluminum pie plates, or aluminum turkey roasting pans. Their cheap, you can get them at your grocery store.

When i would grow 3 plants at a time, i would water them in the sink.

Now I water in a tent that has a built in basin at the bottom. Just water slow so barely any comes out

i was under the impression you wanted about 10% runoff when you water, or is that just for hydro?

Hrmm...

I'd like to lay down something waterproof at the bottom so I can move my plants around freely. then if any drips i can easily clean it up.

I'm going to play around tonight, because i cant deal with that huge storage thing in there anymore!

I did find some square saucers looking online but only in ceramic, not plastic.

10% runoff? I water until it flows out the bottom for a minute or so.

the planter tray I use or something like it to put your plants in. That
way when you water them, the overflow will just flow into the tray
that your plants are sitting in.
Then just put a drain somewhere in the tray with a hose at the bottom leading to a drain somewhere outside of your room.
Only problem is, these tray's are hard to come buy. You'll probably have
to go to a hydroponic store to get one. Plus, their not cheap. I think
I paid $50 for my 2X4 tray. A 2X2 goes for about half.

There's nothing wrong with a little daily maintenance.
We all do it. I don't think theirs a garden anywhere that doesn't take a little daily maintenance.
It keeps me interactive with my garden, If I didn't check on my plants
everyday I'd probably have all kinds of problems.
My biggest pet peeve is checking Ph, Ec, Tds, Humidity, Temp, and Ppm's
everyday sometimes twice a day.

i check everyday and always will..i just cant handle having to remove all my plants to drain the overflow tray right now.
