Light Schedule

I currently have some seedlings that are about 2 weeks old. I have kept my lights on since I planted seed into soil to keep temps warm in my 4x8 tent. After about 2 weeks I turned the lights off for the first time for 6 hours to let temps cool, and give the lights a little break. If I go back to 24 hour lights on will it trouble the seedlings at all?

No they will be fine, but I just wanted to let you know that the plants actually grow more when lights are off. 18 and 6 is what I do, but if you need the heat you can do 20 and 4. 20 on 4 off. you should notice better growth.

The short answer is yes with an “if”, and no with a “but”. If you want the highest potency and maximum yield, we suggest adopting either an 18-6 or 20-4 light-dark cycle. But should you run lights 24-0 indoors, your plants and all of your equipment like fans will be pushed to the limit as well. So far, 24-0 auto crops have failed to outperform those cultivated with dark cycles of 4–6 hours. There really is power on the dark side of the force.

Good luck :)

Appreciate the detailed response! I do plan to adjust to an 18-6 light schedule very soon in the next week once I have better means to control my environment during those 6 hours of darkness. They are only about 1 weeks old since I put seed in soil.

Plants naturally need a dark time. Should always run 18/6
