400W metal halide

is a 400 watt metal halide light bulb supposed to make kind of a buzzing sounds? if this is not normal/dangerous someone let me know i don't know much about lights

HaHa ims sure its fine, mine buzzes lightly as well. Shouldnt be too loud tho. my ballast was buzzing like a bitch but i had some loose screws so as long as everything is snug should be normal....

Well, if you've got an electronic ballast you might want to think about having it checked out - they're supposed to be quiet!
