Nirvana Original Glue
Start of Week 14 since germination
Start of week 7 since 12/12 lighting
Now under 750 watts.....I couldn’t keep the tent cool enough under 1,000 watts. (New LEDs will help)
Averaging 1.5 hours of UVB exposure per day (I think some pistils are prematurely darkening from this)
Plants are getting 45,000-75,000 lux
Fed them on Friday....doubled my CalMag to address a mag deficiency (I use RO water), and Terpinator
Added some Recharge soil conditioner to my feed
Dropped high temp in the tent from 86 degrees to high 70s83125936-4237-48CA-8EFB-46CB036F6604.jpeg

An exciting week ahead. The new Timber LEDs show up on Wednesday and the last missing pieces to reconfiguring my grow tent will be here on Thursday. This could be my last week operating with HID lighting. I love the cola development under 750/1000 watts, but that heat is more than my house can handle. I still haven’t decided whether to finish this grow before tearing the tent apart or to do it mid-grow.

The Gorilla tent will be getting a “gear board” accessory for mounting a fan to cool the led heat sinks. Also planning to run a temperature controlled fa

This plant has been hungrier for nitrogen than the gorilla glue
While she’s looking ripe, she needs to put on a LOT of weight still.

Looking fucking stellar man!
Thanks Flatrate! I’m sooo reading to harvest, but i have 3-4 more weeks based on their look and feel. These are the hardest weeks for me, especially when I’m antsy to get my next grow started. I have my germination station set up and ready for the next batch of seeds in 8 more days.

The Timber LEDs shipped out on Friday and should be here on Wednesday! Stoked to get my next grow going.

Well, I’m just watching pistils brown up before I start checking the trichomes more frequently. The trichomes are still very clear....2-3 more weeks at least. I’ve decided to finish this grow with my current HID under 750 watts. I’ll install the LEDs as soon as the tent opens up.

Welcome....today photos for Nirvana OG Kush
End of Week 14 since germination
End of week 7 since 12/12 lighting
Now under 750 watts.....I couldn’t keep the tent cool enough under 1,000 watts.
Averaging 2.0 hours of UVB exposure per day
Plants are getting 45,000-75,000 lux
Lacking some nitrogen, but I don’t want to feed more N this late in flower

Here is the Nirvana Original Glue:
Week 15 since germination
Week 8 since 12/12 flip (7-9 week strain according to breeders)
2 hours of UVB lighting per day now at 2 feet away from the canopy.
We have a few weeks to go just looking at the pistils.
Fed them with Nectar for the Gods plus CalMag. Ph’d water to 6.4.
estimated time to finish is 3 more weeks

Looking great.
I'd stick with the hid till then end also. Things look great and the led change would just throw a wrench in the system.

Seeing any big differences using the uvb yet?

Can’t say yet on the UVB yet, @.Smoke. I’ll increase them up to three hours per day next week thru finish. Unfortunately, I don’t have a “control” clone without UVB to compare to. They seem pretty frosty at week 7....hope to see a lot more these next few weeks as they ripen.

The OG Kush has lost a fair number of fan leaves from yellowing. She’s finally putting on some weight and starting to bend the stalks. Maybe 2 more weeks to go. Pictures make these trichomes look more ready than they really are.....still clear under my loupe magnifier.

In the last photo, the OG Kush is bottom right. You can clearly see that she is yellowing faster than the Gorilla Glues.

The Gorilla Glue has put on significant weight since I last photographed her. I may not be able to move her for photographs much longer as her stalks are starting to bend under the weight of the colas. The aroma is strong too...getting comments from my “better half” about the smell.

Plenty of time left looking at the colas. 2-3 long weeks ahead before harvest.

Well, the cheap charcoal filter has given up the ship. My basement smells strongly of weed and I barely escaped our Super Bowl party thanks to ONA gel. Haha

Tonight I plan to tear the tent down and replace the lighting with new LEDs, replace the charcoal cannister with a Phat filter, install a fan to cool the LEDs And replace the exhaust fan with a Infinity T6. Hopefully I will get the heat and temperature fluctuations under control with these changes.

More photos to follow once I get into the dismantling and installation.

edit...attached are the updated photos. Changes to the tent include the following...
Gorilla Grow tent gear wall installed to mount fan
Hurricane oscillating fan to cool the LEDs
Phresh Filter 6x24 inch filter
Infinity T6 programmable exhaust fan (that I can’t figure out....LOL)
3 Timber 3 VL fixtures

it’s day 104 (week 8 of 12/12 lighting) and I rotated the girls in the tent. I’m glad that I trained these girls (Topped and LST) and kept them short. Fed them yesterday....they’re getting water every 3 days or so.

so here is the Gorilla Glue from the back of the tent. She’s starting to show some purple unlike the others.

Temperatures with the new lights are ideal. Targeting 80-84 degrees under the LEDs.E323759B-2313-4307-BBAD-0CC246FBAF58.jpeg

Rearranged the lights and added a floor fan to prevent Any PM from settling in.

looking good twalte! it looks like your temps actually went up a bit after switching to the 3vl's.. is that from the lights alone?
Yes, it is from the lights since I’m running 930 watts of LED (930 watts from the wall) compared to 750 watts of HID before. If I understand this correctly, an interesting factoid is that you want to run LEDs in a warmer environment than HID since there is no infrared to warm up the leaves. So keeping the tent at 80-85 degrees is ideal. When I ran the 1000 watt HPS bulb at the full 1000 watts, the tent would be 86 degrees which was too hot for flower.

Im using my exhaust fan speed to dial in a temperature too. I’m only running at half speed in order to get the warmer temperatures in the low 80s.

This explains it better.....I stole it from the California Lightworks site.....
“When a leaf absorbs IR, it heats the leaf creating actual leaf temperatures of 5-7 degrees higher than the 78F degree air temperature. Thus with light sources rich in IR, an air temp of 78F is functionally 83F-85F to the plants metabolism. LED’s emit no IR, so to achieve similar metabolic rates found in HID or greenhouse conditions at 78F air temp,LED growers need to run the room air temp at 83F-85F.”

that explains it well .. interesting ... I didn't think you were going to need the fan to cool the drivers, but I guess you do ... i'm really curious to how your plants respond to the light change this late in flower, i bet they handle it well
