Breeder Suggestions for Next Grow

Hey everyone!

Soon, I plan on ordering seeds that I can veg in my grow room to place in my backyard at the end of May. I get to grow four outdoor plants so I’d love to get a head start. Four plants, four different strains.

For this reason, I want to use feminized seeds. I want to be as sure as possible that the plants that go outside are all females.

I’d love to get feminized Blueberry, Northern Lights, Super Silver Haze, and Girl Scout Cookies, but not dead set on any of them. I was thinking of ordering all my seeds from one breeder, or seed bank, just to make my process easier. For example, I could just get everything from ILGM. However, I’m not very experienced with knowing the quality of genetics from different breeders, so I’m here to ask for your advice.

For the strains I’m thinking of planting, can you suggest some good breeders and/or seed banks?

For what it’s worth, I’m also interested in perhaps Ghost Train Haze by Rare Dankness, or Royal Haze from Dinafem. Maybe even Black DOG by HSO.

Any breeder suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated! Even outdoor strain suggestions. Cheers.

If you’re in the US:
CSI humboldt - order direct. Has fire
Heisenbeans-sold on GPS’ site - fire
Useful-Tons of good reviews of his fems. I think I only have his regs. Check his thread.
Katsu- I have one in veg -Black lime x Bubba. I’m sure it’s fire, he’s been around a while
Strayfox - haven’t popped mine yet

This is like going to a candy store with ten thousand different candies to choose from, but you only get to pick a few every few months!
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into them.

If you're planting in may, i suspect that you might be at a similar latitude as i. Therefore, one factor that you need to consider is flower time. This may determine whether or not you can grow haze and i would stay away from sativa dom strains in general.

For breeders, you got some solid advice already.

@rollinfunk nailed it there. Same with @reallybigjesusfreak

I'll add my two cents and say Archive should also be considered.

Dankonomics (Matt) has to be the most underrated breeder out there. Everything I've grown from him has been absolute fire.

Here's some Ghost Cake I grew about one year ago from Dankonomics, it's Black Forest Cake pollinated by Ghost OG fem pollen.

Here's some Rainbow Belts from Archive @ 45 days. This is Zkittles x Moonbow #75 (Fem)

This just shows how much I have to learn. Does this mean that:
  • If I wanted to plant something like Haze x Northern Lights #5 by Sensi Seeds, I should consider instead a sativa-dominant hybrid from one of the North American breeders mentioned above? If yes, can you suggest a strain?
  • If I'm considering Ghost Train Haze by Rare Dankness vs Royale Haze by Dinafem, just go with Rare Dankness because he's a serious breeder versus a large Euro company?
Just wondering where HSO fits into all of this. There are a lot of mentions of California on their website, but they're named Humboldt Seeds UK. Seems a bit weird, but does that fall under, "mid-grade Euro genetics," or, "Californian Fire"?

It's difficult to get info on some of the suggestions here, such as Harry Palms seeds. I have no clue whether or not they're indicas, sativas or hybrids, nor can I find info on when they normally harvest. There's not much info provided on the seedbank websites.

This is all really helpful to me, thanks.

There's like 3 different humboldt sites, pretty sure the one you want is humboldt seed company out of california. HSO(Humboldt seed organization) is not the same thing and likely the UK one you're seeing.

Ok. So, CSI Humboldt and HSC are good, well-respected breeders and HSO seems like a larger Euro company riding off of North American genetics.

If your determined to have usa genetics as others say csi humbolt id also add lucky dog seeds to the list
I'm not determined, just unsure and looking for advice. It's a bit confusing that I can read so many positive reviews for strains like Sensi's Haze x NL#5 or HSO's Black Dog, but told that there is much better in the US.

All I have is the advice of the good folks here, I can't pretend to know what I don't. Having said that, Humboldt Dream by HSC caught my eye a few minutes ago.

I'll check out Lucky Dog, thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah that's the tough part. Most everyone online from usa will tell you eu genetics are garbage. I still went to Attitude and bought some seeds(HSO, FoS, WoS, etc) and working on growing them out just to see for myself. I also bought some from Greenpoint Seeds and will see from there too. Big thing to keep in mind is your preference may not be someone else's. Sometimes you just have to try it for yourself and see whats best for you.

Everything everyone has recommended so far though is a safe bet, Should definitely get some fire from any of them. But don't be discouraged if what you want isn't available in the us, just get it from the EU or whatever and grow it out. Best case it's everything you wanted. Worst case its not super potent and/or tasty and you grow something else instead next time.
