How soon do you start nutes for seedlings grown in rockwool?

This has probably been asked a million times but no amount of search queries will get me to the answer I'm looking for so forgive my newbie question.

I've got a seedling just emerging from rockwool. I soaked the rockwool in PH corrected water but aside from that I have not provided any nutrients for the seedling. It is just getting its cotyledon leaves and is looking good. However I am not wanting to miss my opportunity to provide it with appropriate nutrients. It is an Autoflower if that helps. Will be moved to a dwc set up.

In rockwool? I thought rockwool had zero nutrients and so it all had to be provided. And they don't have any deficiencies? Have you done this with autos? They have such a short life cycle!
do not listen to that advice. might be the worst i've seen on here in a while.

LOL.
why start then? feed them a few days before harvest and save money.
I'm thinking he's using something other than rockwool, or perhaps his water is just really amazing naturally!?!?

What would you suggest rkymtnman? Eager to see what you think. You've helped me a lot.

i actually start my seeds with nutes in the water. very light nutes. if they have leaves they need food.

maybe 0.1 EC 0.2 EC for tiny ones like that. i use 1mL per gallon of dyna gro foliage pro for quite a while.

Great. Thank you. Mixed up a light batch with 0.1 EC to get her rolling!
and for your next set of seeds, you should think about switching from rockwool to rapid rooters. rockwool is too finicky in my opinion: too dry, too wet, pH issues, etc.

tray of coco + perlite > rooters imo. I had a habit of letting rooters get too wet. this drains much better. left the dome on with water in the bottom tray and it took care of itself.

i put my RR's right from my aero unit into my waterfarms. coco and perlite would just be a mess IMO.

I gently dig them up with my little seed shovel thing and give the roots a mist with a spray bottle and theyre clean. The stuff I got is coarse and I go pretty perlite heavy. They stay really loose in there and half of them I can just pull out. They go from there into the cloner to age.
Just something ive been playing with lately and having good success and an easy time with.

When you refer to aero units, do you mean aerogarden type setups? I have one that I grow lettuce in but I've wondered how it would work for seedlings/clones.
mine is called a Prepara power plant but same thing without the light. and yes, a rapid rooter will fit in them perfectly! i would use it for sure (not with rockwool though). i probably have a 99% success rate germinating seeds in it and then i let them grow before i transplant into my waterfarms.

that's the thing: find something that works and stick with it. especially when seeds are 10 bucks a pop.

Some old ILGM seeds I had laying around. They were in the cloner at 5 days old. Easiest seeds I've done yet. Dumped the wrong bottle in there the other day and gave them nutrients instead of adding the calmag water. Fresh started monday night with a new batch of clones and they're happy again.
