What size light for a 2 by 2 by 4 grow tent

Anyone who knows anything about LEDs for cannabis knows philiz, among all similar chinese junk leds is CRAP

I use an Amare Technology 260 or P 300 in my 2 x 4 tent. The P-300 is better in that the 3 modules are horizontal, which spreads the light much better (ideal for a 2 x 4) than the 260 (ideal for a square tent), which has 4 modules in a square (see pic). The P 300 is in the open tent picture. The ring surrounding the COBs consists of 450/660 and IR. They are on a separate o/o switch, which can be used alone for veg

There is a small plant behind the 40" plant you see. Also 3 clones from the 'big' plant on the right side. IMO, 2 of the 'big' plant max in this tent

Tip, I raised the bottom of the tent with bricks to increase the hight. Also, I put the tent skin on upside down, which puts multiple exhaust up high since hot air rises. Also, the P 300 is only ~ 8" wide, which allows hot air to rise far easier than a typical rectangular light. Oh, and I leave the front flaps open 24/7. I only zip them up when someone comes over who isn't cool

If you want an inexpensive LED, check out Spider Farmer, a true full spectrum light, including IR!

Amazon vivisun lights 1200w cree cob led
Those look to be a mix of cobs and cheap leds.

What you have will work. Just know its not the most effecient light. Ive grown with about every type of light. Ive seen all the arguments about effwcincy and different parameters of different lights. Some of that plays a role but it more or less comes down to the grower. If you are a shit grower it doesnt matter the light.

The main thing is to remember that cannabis is not special. It doesnt need all those cannabis specific nutes. Keep it simple. Use a simple balanced feed. Control environment. Keep the plant happy and all else falls in place.

Look it up again it says 176 watt actual power plus or minus 3% I only got it because of the good reviews
One i'm looking at says 220w

That's more than enough for clones and early veg in a 2x2ft space. I would only use the veg switch if your rooting clones, flip both switches after they are rooted.

I wouldn't take much notice of reviews for lights on amazon, most people plug it in, it lights up and they leave a review, sometimes people wait a month into veg, at which point it seems great because plants don't need much to veg with.

There's a thread specifically for that brand in the LED section with a couple of guys showing the results. Check that out.
Not a fan of that light but in comparison to the other average shit LEDs they do seem to represent a bit better value for the money.

Look at spiderfarmer LEDs for the 2x4 if your on a budget. Or pick up a 260 v1 kit from hlg which are pretty fairly priced and excellent lights.

Didnt read what anyone else said...

But I have a 2x3x5 tent and currently run a 150w HPS with 2x 2ft t5s to supplement. Heat buildup is an issue though, as well as light footprint in my space, so I've been looking at moving to LEDs.

Lights on temp is high 80s (Fahrenheit), and high 70s lights off. And that's with ventilation sucking hot air directly off the 150w, plus fans for circulation, and an ambient temp in my house of 66-74.

Take that for what it is, but I'd suggest LEDs in that sized space as opposed to HID lighting

In my 2x4 tent I run a quantum board Samsung 301b 3000k with red leds down the middle 240 watt. And run a Vivosun 600 watt but actual watts 220. This is my first grow 3 weeks into flower and lights are doing good.

Could be the voltage difference between our two countries then. Im on 230v and everything I look at on amazon is for my location.
240 here now i need to find out if i need 2 lights in my 2×4×5 tent for 2 plants. My 2×2×4 tent is only for clones and veg if not at harvest. If i don't need 2 lights in big then im going with 3 to 4 t5 lights?

Well as far as that light goes, for flowering in 2x4 if that's the idea, two of them would work. Or use the one you have and pick up a single QB 135w kit for one half and use that on the other.
You could run something a lot less for clones and veg than that light. You could go for hlg65 or hlg100 or equal light from another company doing similar things. You could literally get a few screw in household leds in the 2x2.
Personally I don't use t5 or t8 but they are very good for clones and veg. If you have them then use them.
