Ok I wanted to say thank you to those of you that helped answer any ? I had through my tangerine dream grow. I used cmh the last month (4×8 tent wit 2 cmh 3100 bulbs and in the middle of them 2 cheaper 600 watt led lights 3 plants in the middle and right were tangie and the plant on the right candy dawg. The candy dawg (under cmh and the tangie on the right came out killer. The middle plant has a ton of trichomes and will be good for hash bus foxtails like crazy . Think it's from the LED?

A CMH is certainly better then a cheap LED light. That's probably why, certain strains are also better then others.

I grow under a 630w, mixed spectrum 2-bulb CMH fixture with an additional 400w vertical HPS open bulb hanging open between the plants in a 5x5...the frost from CMH and the thickness from the HPS bare-bulb supplemental side lighting...in all honesty I’ll smoke my buds over dispensary anytime.

I don't use my CMH's anymore......HLG 550V2 Rspec owns those......so does Timber Cob fixtures......a cmh is better then an amazon blurple or unbranded LED.
i don’t know much about side by side comparisons of LED vs CMH, but I suspect they both lose to HPS for pure penetration power through the canopy. Typically HPS = lots of thick, solid high quality buds up and down the stem, CMH= extremely high quality, thick buds on uppers with larfy bottoms.
i’m assuming LEDs = nice high quality frosted tops, thinner, spacious calyx space/buds, less yield? How would a 2000$ Gavita Pro LED light compare? No idea...I just know what works for me in my setup. If someone sends me a board I’ll do a side by side

As someone who has, and still is using both CMH, and LED; I couldn’t agree more. The added UV that CMH produces increases potency/effect in my buds. The buds from under my COB’s lack unless supplemented with some fluorescents.

When you say a cheap led light do you mean a Meijiu kingbrite led or an Amazon led? Or both ? Lol im thinking about retiring my 4x old 600w hps sets because they are probably a fire hazzard by now and i was looking at getting 10 of them fotop 800's from Meijiu everyone raves about... Shall i just go get myself 4x 600w hps gavitas and sack the Meijiu ? Id apreciate an honest opinion i dont want to be the cool kid with a futuristic light i just want to be able to keep pulling my g / w like i do with my 10 year old adjust a wing 600w without It being a fire hazzard.
