How does this work?I think the most important topping is that first one because it opens up the plant for better oxygen.
Topping? You just pluck the new growth at the top of the plant and you get two main stalks. If you don't top it's just one stalk going all the way up. The first topping opens the plant up because you're taking the I shaped stalk and making a Y shaped stalk. The more you top it the more it bushes out.How does this work?
It is new to me.

Mkay... well I did answer that as well. The Y shaped stalk is what increases airflow. If you don't top the main stalk goes straight up and there's no gap between the main stalks increasing air flow.I think hes referring to the oxygen portion of your post, not the topping
Kessje has been around for quite a while, he knows what topping a plant means, so i can only assume hes referring to the better oxygen statement.
Hes a learner, he likes hearing peoples thoughts and methods and loves asking for explanations if he dosent understand something thats posted. hes a good lad
This is the first time I hear this.Mkay... well I did answer that as well. The Y shaped stalk is what increases airflow. If you don't top the main stalk goes straight up and there's no gap between the main stalks increasing air flow.
I think you're focusing too heavily on the word oxygen. This is definitely a physical thing and not a chemical thing. I'm just talking about the air that is able to flow through and around the plant. A Y shape just has a big gap that air can channel through. I'm not saying that by topping you expose more oxygen molecules to the stalk... that's like cell membrane level. Too deep. This is the first time I hear this.
With which I do not want to say that it is not right.
But I think it's incorrect.
I think oxygen does not pass through the plant in gaseous state.
But it connects to magnesium, for example, and is transported through the plant in this way.
But I am not a biologist and I will certainly do research on this.
Ah, I think I get what your saying. By topping you change a bit how the plant is build.A Y shape just has a big gap that air can channel through. I'm not saying that by topping you expose more oxygen molecules to the stalk... that's like cell membrane level. Too deep.
