I liked 1.75 Gallon Pots, and Green Twist Wire as 3 Guy Wires to keep tall plants straight. Then as buds get heavy, and you have lost some fan leaves, you can tie the branches closer to the main stem to raise them as high in the canopy as possible. You MIGHT get Spider Mites, and you must always be ready for doing battle with them. That means being able to take each plant to a separate space, and use a Microscope Eyepiece backwards to high power inspect EVERY SINGLE LEAF, EVERY TWO DAYS, until you win the battle. Inspect every day if you can. You must shine light through each leaf. Eggs can only be seen with reflected light inspection. Any eggs, or poop or webs, take off whole fan leaf. Single juveniles, wipe off with IPA Q-Tip. Do not allow plants to touch each other until you are SURE no Spider Mites.

Now, you asked how to maximize yield. The easiest way is to make deeper pots by cutting bottoms off same size pots and telascoping them taller. Also ensure you have enough veg time for your space. Do not defoliate until leaves turn yellow. Spread younger flowering branches to catch more light without defoliating. As they yellow and you take them off, tie branches close to main cola to raise them in the canopy and to allow plants closer together under the light.

The highest yielding garden I ever saw was shown in High Times Magazine. A 4x4 Hydro flood tray won the contest. 64 pots, 8x8 6 inches diameter each. Each clone "Gigged", meaning its root mass was hacked off ~ 60% taken off. This stunts the plant and makes it grow as a single Cola, no branches at all. No fan leaves, even when starting flower. Just single blades. Only 7" or 8" tall when ripe. 64 plants x 1/4 to 1/2 Ounce each, is one hell of a lot of PERFECT CANOPY SOG. 64 plants will get you spanked very very hard around here. So never tried it that way.

Good luck, and never forget to pray for success!
