Troll ? Or no ?

I just need a definitive answer on what a troll really is. I looked it up in the dictionary and it's very confusing to me. The word has been throwing around for the last week all over this site. Mostly at me lol but I wasn't trying to, if that makes sense. Anyways sorry if I offended anyone just want to know exactly what a troll is so if somebody calls me it or ask me if I am one I know what to say
 
Technically it is a broad term. On a forum like this it could be someone who repeatedly posts over and over but the posts are irrelevant. Posting inaccurate information or arguing against accurate information with malicious intent or just without knowing what you're talking about. Repeatedly posting common knowledge things to boost your reaction count. Giving incorrect advice. Calling people names, specifically without provocation.

Great never done any of these things and don't plan on it. But I'm having a hard time figuring out why?
 
It's someone who is being deliberately provocative, which is obviously a highly subjective call.
The term is directly analogous to the fishing term. You're running wild, swinging your shit in the water, aggressively looking for a bite.

Trolling would also be going to every post a person makes and attempting to negate what they are saying in order to maintain one ideology. It shouldn't anger you to the extent that you rally a group of people together just because someone didn't accept your advice. Defending yourself is much more honorable than harassing people because you believe the knowledge you have gives you authority over the opinions of all human beings.
 
trolls can also just be people who are on for no other purpose other than to spit a bunch of bs for an unrelated goal, like if there was a Russian "AMERICAN" who posts propaganda on the political threads, but who can't put together simple sentences in English, and doesn't have any posts related to anything weed. that is just an example.

Children and the current generation think its fun........waste of time, get a job
