Help me pick my strain!!

get ak48 and white widow. then cross them and get yourself some homespun white russian. ak47/8 is a real skull fuck. great smoke

Cross pollination is easy. You need to 1st select your parents. Pick the best male and the best female that have the traits that you desire.
Than simply pollinate the female with pollen collected from the male, you can use a paintbrush or even a q-tip to do this. If you dont know how to collect pollen, heres a how-to.

flower blueberry before you germinate it! yes before because that plant gonna get 30 foot tall, just a warning. the hieght of berry suprised me !

A friend was just in a couple shops in Southern Holland. He said they both had White Widow but did not speak highly of it. They said "it's ok" but didn't rave, even acted surprised when he said he heard it's great. They both had one called "Haze" that they said was the best. I find that interesting since most hazes are more specific, such as Super Haze, etc. At any rate, he bought some of the WW and it really didn't look anything like you see in pics. Was very green and not covered in white specs or anything. Yes, it was good but nothing overwhelming and hardly recommended in those two shops.

Very interesting....Obviously they've grown their version of WW and werent impressed. Thankfully they tried to tell you b4 you purchased anything.

But thats the 1st time I didnt hear about someone nut'n in their boxers when talking about White Widow.

Was quite a surprise when I heard it too. And I don't know much about strains but to have a non specific Haze being touted as the best smoke around seemed surprising. Is there a Haze that's that strong? Dutch Passion has a Super Haze that sounds real nice.

How can someone pick between the many great strains like AK-47, White Widow, Mazar, Kali Mist, and even Super Haze... can you go wrong? And if someone just picks AK and White Widow for instance are they really going to harvest, get stoned, and feel like they are missing something because they don't have Kali Mist or Mazar? Can you really tell that much difference between the "highs"?


Then, once you decide on a strain, does it really matter which seed company you choose; for instance, would Dutch Passion's Durban Poison be all that different than another company's? And what about DP's White Widow vs another's?

Regarding AK-47, Kali Mist, and White Russian, it looks like Serious Seeds is having backorder problems and many of their outlets are out of stock currently.

Amsterdam, march 2007

Unfortunately I have to give you bad news. There is a special situation now at Serious; we are practically out of stock of everything. This means we have to take drastic measures. One of these steps is that we have no other option then to stop delivering seeds to our outlets till we have stock again. We set the date to have plenty of everything back in stock at aug 1st. 2007. Till that time we will not be able to deal with orders, we are very sorry about that.

In the past we have had shortages due to unexpected high demands. In the present situation the production was heavily undermined because of technical problems. Although we by now have solved the problems, we still need some time before we have enough stock to be able to serve all shops.


We do realize that this is not such nice news for you. But we do hope that you, as the people who have to face the public and explain them what is going on, understand our position and will have the trust to continue our business relation when we will be back - and we will be!

Every place I searched had AK and Kali out of stock. I did find this site that has Kali Mist at about 55 British Pounds but at that price I think I will opt for something else because of price and my suspicion that even if I order it will not arrive.

VirginHarvester, The name fits you, to answer your question, how can someone say one high is any better than another? each strain brings with it, it's unique characteristics, taste, smell, and yes the high. Each individual with have there own preference's.

Using your present thinking, one might think a McDonalds happy meal and a porterhouse steak dinner are the same, as both will fill your belly.

Moving on, all seed banks are not created equal, they each have there own practice's, some you may, or may not approve of. Especially once you start talking about femenized seeds.

My question or dilemma is how to decide what to grow since I can only choose a couple of strains. At the same time I'm trying to assure myself that as long as I pick between premium strains I will be satisfied even if I only grow a couple strains. I tend to think the difference between a pure sativa and indica are pronounced but that the differences between one sativa over another, or indica over another are subtle. So if I grow an indica like Mazar and a sativa like Super Haze I won't likely regret not having grown Blueberry and Kali Mist for instance when all is said and done. That's all I was trying to get across and get feedback on.

Of course, I wish I could figure out a way to get a female of each without too much extra effort.. Add to that a female of AK-47, WW, and I'd be rolling. But I just don't think I can manage all of it.

Wow, hadn't checked this thread in a while - didn't know it had got so many responses over time.

As you can see from my grow journal (which everyone is welcome to comment on, good or bad - especially videoman, as I'd LOVE your advice throughout my grow), I picked white widow and mazar. I ordered from Doc Chronic and got my seeds EXTREMELY fast - in about 4-5 days from when I paid. I'd started to germinate the seeds already and my progress can be tracked in the journal.

Take a look and comment - I'd really appreciate it.
