Complete noob advice needed

How much more would you recommend taking off

I’ve taking off all the larger leaves on the plant and as many medium so far and cut back the other. Do I need to cut them right back to the stem or can I just trim the leaf as in the photo?
Opps as just trimmed it and the plant probably has around about 5% of the leafs covered in mites. Is it a concern for me at this stage?
Someone did ask my why I’m I using the bamboo and my initial reply was to get light and air all round the plant, but I also am using the bamboo to support the branches so the plant uses it energy on the buds and not the stem and branches as it’s quire a breezy corner of my garden.

mites will suck the life from the plant and poo in the buds
beneficial insects such as ladybugs can eat the mites, a sugar solution will glue their wings shut for a little while so they don't fly off right away~ since you are budding this would be my first approach
if it isnt too humid there you may be able to get them with a hot pepper spray and then re - apply 3-4 days , 3 total times at least, then rinse off before the buds develop too far
defoliation I dont think makes a difference with the sun . Only reason I'd pluck leaves is to avoid rot ~ sunlight goes through them
id say there is at least 4-8 weeks left in this plants budding cycle

Thanks for the info. I guess I can go find a spray that will kill the mites. We are in the hot and humid part of our weather currently with humidity at 77% and temp 33 degrees and this will go on till mid March, so was it a good idea to remove most of the leafs to decrease the chance of rot and mild?

well what I'm trying to say is if you spray them for mites be VERY careful not to let that water make the budsites mold. If you can perhaps put a fan outside after you spray them, and shake them off after you spray, you could get a few applications on before you let them finish out. Since they have at least a month to go you can get in 3 organic treatments and then rinse that residual off
To me the buds still look like they have a bit to go but it is hard to tell not actually being there.
If you think saturating the buds might make them mold in your situation I wouldn't do it, If you think you can control it go for it!
Do a little researcxh too. Some people just go to the grocery store and make their own hot pepper spray there are lots of guides out there
just dont rub your eyes or go to the bathroom without washing your hands lol!

Thanks for your help and I might try nuking them
as I grow 3 out of the 5 worlds hottest chilli in my garden and still rub my eyes after eating them and never learn

haha so you dont even have to go to the store!
I advise~ use a wetting agent in conjunction with your hot pepper mixture.
ivory dish soap works as well as other things~ search wetting agent.

whatever you do , take into account how much longer you have. you probably have about 2 weeks of time you could still get away with a few mite applications
I don't think you will get a bad taste from the peppers. that oil will rinse off but will initially kill the mites and is organic. I'd think its better than smoking mites
if you don't kill the mites your production will be reduced alot. It is like a double edged sword~ I'd consider everything, do research the next day and figure out exactly what you want to do about it.

To be honest it’s a learning curve for me as I don’t smoke weed and will end up giving it away . So
Im going to roll the dice and hopes it’s mites and I can eliminate them with a chemical spray. The good thing is I’ve got another plant on the go and will use all this knowledge giving to me to produce a better bud next time, not to say this won’t end up good

He can probably spray with a small abouts of Bronner's Peppermint soap. About a half a teaspoon per gallon of water. Other essential oils like lavander can also work - 8 to 10 drops per gallon of water.
