I cant see how you make the reading that blue penetrates further. Infact search the article for the word penetration and nothing comes up. The pic you refer to is a diagram of absortion of wave lengths of different pigments, and if i remember right it realtes to a in vitro study of dead algae, not to live leaves. But doesnt really matter.
Sure this graph seems to show higher blue levels but its regarding absortion of blue. The way i read this is that blue is absorbed easily (high levels in the chart) and something that is absorbed easily would not travel much further, nor into the leaf, nor down thru the cannopy. Infact it seems like youre making a perfect argument for why blue does not penetrate. If you could tell me more on how to reach your conclusions perhaps? Like, in detail rather than loosely refering to a chart or maybe cite something specifically?
