Why are so many new growers choosing blurple/led over hps/mh??

I hear you there... My basement temps are the same.
Lights out is a problem especially when the stink requires fan on at all times.

Can't you keep the stink in the grow room overnight? Must get cold in the room if the fan goes steady too.

I live out in the country on a small acreage and did worry about the stink a bit as the wife sells eggs so if we had calm or static wind conditions the whole yard got stunk out. Three years ago I bought a nice carbon filter for damn near $200 and it still sits all sealed up in it's box. Can-Fan 6x24", 600cfm. Using it atm as a stand for the fan in the veg room upstairs. lol

Now that it's legal I don't much care if someone smells pot in my yard tho if I apply for my medical grow permit I may end up using it but I doubt it. I might put it up on Kijiji along with the trimmer I'll never use.

Or the amount of power available give me 20a with led vs 20a with hps and unlimited square footage with both. led will absolutely shit on the hps the extra bud would more than cover the cost of the lights. Most hps guys don't really think things through.

people online have done KIND LED v HPS grow comparisons and the HPS shit all over the expensive LED's.

The leaf wants the ir from hos its partly how they work, google how much ir is in the suns spectrum.

Weve all been over this with leds and they still falsify biology also spectrum which has been their problem since blurpos.

4 x 250w hps spreads much better than leds of 1000w - its really down to the grower what he wants but the hype is ridiculous and the efficiency drawn from failed spectrum all over which is simply why were not seeing this mega hype in yeilds.

End game for leds they havent proven shit and piss everyone else off.

This thread would have been better in the led sub not here as too many are that good with hps the hype simply wont syack up.

We will see if it will stay. Changed things up to an outside exhaust this year. Carbon filter leaked too much smell and the wife wasnt pleased.
She is a nurse so smelling like a grow room isnt kosher.

What is not true? I'm fully aware of why led is more efficient lol. When I said watt for watt I meant the heat that is produced is the same. That is how btu's work.

true except for the fact that Lamps heat a gas. Watt for watt they give off the same heat but the heat of the gas adds to the heat of the lamp.
For most the year i need that extra heat but run CMH as its much superior than HPS w for w.

Because they think it's better than HPS because of the newer led technology. It all comes down to cost in the long run. You have positive things about both. HPS/MH produces more heat and higher PAR output. LEDs are easier to install, produces less heat and are easier to work with. Lighter, cooler and smaller size.

I've run both. I don't like the thing that plants grown under Blurpees require more magnesium than HPS/MH. My next setup will probably be a mix of LEDs and CMH DE.

oh we also have to replace bulbs more often whereas LED is a one time purchase.

Not saying the good high end LEDs aren't the future. They most likely are. Just wondering why a noob like myself would take on the extra hassle, especially with the low end stuff, of trying to learn the led grow requirements along with trying to learn the plant.

Just seemed like to much for a noob like me to take on in the beginning.

If its hot were u are like 105 fh plus and growing in small ass space, quality leds r the way, screw aircon

At best it would heat a small room, do the maths or buy a 500w heater and see which wins.

Leds will say just about anything will zero real workd experience but it must be right because another led user trolled it here.

Too hot here in summer to grow using hps, without aircon.

What if the room is already 30'C+, where does all that heat go?

LED is obviously superior here.
