Using 8 per, i would be purchasing 32 strips in total. U did say they come in 2ft strips correct? So going that route, ill be buying 4 240w drvers? What guage wire di i need? 14g or 16g? I remember u mentioning something about running at 32w per strip but it was prob with different driver
you will need 18g solid core wire for the strips and 14 or 16g for the driver side, either is fine. Are you planning to use wagos? also the ip68 connectors are a must have, keeps your power cord joins nice and sealed.

Ya im not sure what drivers we were talking about back then lol.....you can easily do that tho....anywhere between 25-50 watts per strip is good for the j series, just remember the more strips you have the more efficient your light will run and you will also have more control over what you can do with them.

Just divide total wattage of whatever driver you want to use by how many strips and you will get a quick number on what each strip is running at.

240w / 8 strips is 30w per strip...thats a nice number

Very nice bro, look great! So it looks like ur veg & flower are two differemt setups? Looks like the flowering lights are strictly a lower “K” light compared to the others, correct?

No that was a lens over my camera making the pics look different lol. I have separate spaces for veg and flower.

Those plants all vegged under 200/400/600w MH in a 4x4 tent, the first pic you see is day 1 in the led flowering room, i usually give them another 2 weeks of veg under the leds and then i flip. So the second pic you see is 2 weeks later basically.

Im 6 weeks into veg but dont know when to flip em? I think i was keeping light too low as they were growing very short and compact, so i raised light amd the seem to be stretching a little. I pruned for the 1st time the other day and didnt know wtf i was doing lol and hopefully i didnt do more harm than good. Ill post pic

They look good man, not easy to make plants look good under the blurple madness lol
They appear to be a heavy indica, prob also why they are growing compact. Id flip them anytime at all, im impatient like that lol

Your gonna kick some serious ass with these Jseries bud.
Really, they look good for the cheap lights im using? Whatm they somt usually look like that?

They’re WW, Im confused on their Satve/Indica values. I tnought they were heavier in the Indica side but ive also read theyre heavier on the Sativa so i dont knwo lol. I was keeping light at like 14” so i raised em to about 20” to see if they’d stretch amd with pruning they sem to be getting taller faster. I just don’t know F why I clipped off was supposed to be clipped off or not lol

A buddy of mine who is much smarter than i just reminded me of something.

If you run those J series in the 25w per strip range you dont need heatsinks at all. Even better is the newer version of the jseries is wider and more rigid than mine. 24mm compared to 14mm....My lights were built with the idea that if i ever wanted to upgrade drivers for more power, my strips can take it because they are on good sinks already.

So realistically, you would be better off buying a couple more strips per fixture and not having to worry about heatsinks at all. You can then screw the strips directly on your frame.

9 strips per fixture(240w driver) is 26.66w per strip. I think you would be safe there without sinks.

What's up @diggs99 , nice looking setup and plants :bigjoint:

@HardLuck71 you'll want to know what strips you're using, how many, and how hard you want to be able to drive them in order to make a proper driver selection. I Just skimmed quickly so if you've already determined that and I missed it, my bad. Otherwise post your grow light parts ie, the strips, and how many and then tag Diggs or me, or any of the guys Diggs mentioned and we'll help get you sorted.

A general rule of thumb is 30W of LED per every ft2 of grow space.

Hey chief,

He's using the j series strips from cutter.

8/9 strips per 240w driver
