I got my Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company catalog in the mail last week. Some cool stuff. I'm out of Pruden's Purple tomato seeds. Might try something else for a change.

I got mine as well. I doubt I'll buy anything from them. I just order the catalogs to look at and dream of the things I would grow if I had the room and climate to grow them in.

I'm uncertain where I'll be gardening. The long term plan is to live at the river house, but I got a feeling it will be a couple three years before that happens full time. I guess I'll try to do some gardening at both places. I've been digging holes for citrus trees along the slough already.

I'm growing less of the hots than I used to. Mostly just a few cayenne for pepper sauce, and some habs for pepper spray. Last year I used none of the habs myself. {I still have lots of blended peppers in the freezer for spray} I gave a few away, but the rest went to waste.

I planted a few kinds of pepper just before the full moon. No real hots. Mammoth Jalapeno and Hatch the only two with heat at all. The rest were Cubanelle, mini sweets and bells. I've got to get some lights rigged up. No sprouts as of this morning.

My garden is an acre and a half. I sometimes plant more than I should. Most years I have 2-3 habs, 8-10 each of 7-8 other kinds of peppers. Then I have to pick them and try to get rid of them. The wife cooks with bells and jalapeno, but doesn't like the real hot stuff. It gets old picking them, then throwing them away.

I have some sort of dulce pepper. I don;t have my collection in front of me, but I think it's a Caribbean Red. No on the chocolate habs. It's just the normal orange ones. I've been growing from 1 pepper's worth of saved seeds for years.
