Light burn?

Hey long time listener first time caller,.. having a bit of trouble diagnosing this tent.
Growing under mars sp25s x2 in a5x4
Dutch nutrient product line


noticed my lights were a bit close
Plants still seem to be growing

any help would be amazing

It looks like some kind of deficiency to me....

This is light burn....
The newer growth turns yellow before the older growth, even on the older fan leaves...
But your's appears to be yellowing from the older growth inwards...

Looks like a deficiency to me too, nutes or ph. If everything is balanced, maybe try some Epsom salt or cal-mg. JMO, I'm still fairly inexperienced.
 
thanks guys. I was worried it was my old calmg causing it.. i would like to isolate the problem and feed it what it need as opposed to heavy feeding it... is it possible to clear it up with a good flush and a few heavy feeds? im using 7gal smart bags.. usually feed 2 litres of half strength nutes in a coco peat mix...EC is 2200-2500
 
sooooo if its yellowing from older growth... the new growth is taking sugars from the old...which indicates Nitrogen....?
 
I’ve been lurking some grows using Mars Sp250s and feel they don’t get the love as they should.

Ive been looking at your photos ( like to see more ) and it does look a lot like light “ STRESS “ or intensity issues to the upper most areas of leaf. PLUS ......... you are showing definite Wind burn ... hence the twisted new growth which is evident. Based on your photo the one at the top left is farthest from fan and shows more uniformity.

It’s easy to have a couple of issues going on at the same time. How high are the SPs from canopy. ?

they were about 20inches off the canopy, i raised them to about 30 inches when i noticed the yellowing. i have the fan pretty close youre prob right about that.

i have two others under the same light..fed the exact same, but the light has always been about 25inches off...

Nitrogen starts from the bottom of the plant going up. Your's is from the top down.

From looking at your newer pictures, it might actually be light burn like you said, but it also looks like a Zinc Deficiency to me.
I would raise the lights and wait 2 or 3 days to see if conditions improve, and if it doesn't then it is for sure Zinc Deficiency, and it might really be your old Cal-Mag like you suspect.
I think a flush and a heavy feeding is a good idea. And maybe get some new Cal-Mag.

After raising the lights.. it’s not getting any worse. I imagine that the damage done from light burn .. is permanent? I flushed and am gonna do another heavy feed.

I’m afraid of it being lockout. I don’t think any of my feedings were overly spicy.. I measure my ppm every feed and my run off is within parameters for both ppm and ph.
 
Just curious why you'd flush, then heavy feed the plant, especially if you think the plants are deficient in some way...what was the reasoning for the flush?

How much coco is in your mix? This is where I'd start. If you have a high percentage of it in your medium and you're treating the grow more like a peat grow...well, that's the start of your issues.

You don't mention the specifics of your nutrients, aside from the brand, and you don't mention pH data aside from saying the run off is within pH parameters. What is your parameter range and do you pH what you're putting into the plant or only worry about pH in terms of the run off?

More importantly, if your plants are short on iron, zinc, sulfur, etc (which I don't believe is the case)...almost without a doubt it's because your pH is off. Of course if your nutrient line doesn't have any of those elements in it...well, there you go. I think if you can answer those questions, you'll get yourself headed in the right direction. I flushed because I was afraid it was nutrient lock.

There’s a higher percentage of peat than coco. I ph at 5.9-6 and my run off is about 5.7-6.
I use these nutrients at half strength.

So...if there is more peat than coco (do you know the percentages?), then maybe your pH is too low? I run 100% coco and your pH is what I would shoot for more or less. If I were running peat I'd be shooting for a much higher pH.
Do your nutrients address your micro elements? Are they addressing all the elements you suspect you may be short on, ie iron, zinc, sulfur, etc ?
 
Yes the diamond And burst both contain trace elements. Particularly zinc.. however I don’t see sulfur listed particularly. I’m aboit 25%coco. 6.5ph sound too high?
 
Without sitting in front of your grow, I'm out of detective questions. The only thing that stands out to me is the pH perhaps being too low considering the majority of your medium is comprised of peat. Issues with zinc, iron and sulfur generally result from pH issues, not so much because your plant needs boat loads of those elements. But I'm just one man, so see what some of the others here have to say. Whatever you do, don't knee jerk your way into more issues...slow and steady. Good luck.
