Does anybody know or have a good the grid LED grow room ....or one that shares with the grid..

So.. OFF the Grid, oooorrrrrr shares with the grid, in other words, ON the Grid?......
In the grid outside the grid maybe? Like Neo & Morpheous had a caramel coloured baby who knew a shifty sparky that could tap a hard line from the mainframe & draw unlimited unmetered electricity that would remain undetectable to Agent Smith & his goons.....
....or something

I used to start seedlings destined for outdoors in cups in coolers using off the grid powered fluoro bulbs.

As far as flowering off the grid, it can be done, but matching power generation to flowering light demand could get expensive. Under a small solar setup, it would be best to flower during the day, but expect to need batteries for rainy or cloudy days. Backup generator wouldn't hurt either.

Growing off grid using electrical lighting will be so cost prohibitive that it's not even funny. You have expensive solar panels, they only put out max power a few hours a day on a sunny day. Inverters are wasteful to use with LED because you are converting DC to AC and then back to DC at the LED driver so figuring out a direct AC'less system would prevent a lot of waste but also cost a lot of money. You need a battery bank and thats not cheap and won't last forever. So the cost of the weed grown under such a system would be pretty high IMO and probably not worth it. Would really suck to put in all that money to build a system thats a house of cards so you can't be cutting corners or just barely sizing a battery bank for example.

Nature has been giving us free light since the dawn of time so you should use that. Setup a greenhouse.

Setting up a greenhouse is always a good idea.

If a consistent flowing stream were available, a decent micro hydro setup might do it to produce personal stash. But for most people, that isn't happening from a technical setup point of view and from a legal point of view.

Maybe try a hybrid. Greenhouse setup supplemented with off grid solar could be within reach of those who are do it yourselfers. Might be best to work it out first to generate enough light to veg under rather than to flower in.
Different power demands for flowering will add equipment and cost.

I agree. Running the ventilation fans and some supplemental LED lighting renewably would be a lot more manageable.

I've seen a few guys who are off the grid. Fuel costs for the generators must be cheaper than what they are making. I'm paying 13 cents a kilowatt hour so it wouldn't surprise me if it's cheaper.

Fuel costs for a genny are alot higher than electricity from the grid. It was worth it back in the day but I highly doubt now. The OP is in New Zealand so maybe the price of weed is still high there?

He's from NZ? I was right on the button then. Im not sure if our prices here are high in comparison or not. I could push for $4-450NZD an oz. Outdoors goes from anywhere between $200 $350NZD. & down at the street level they push for $20NZD per gram but they dont weigh grams at the street level so it wouldn't be surprising to pay that for 0.5 of a gram. How are the prices holding in the legal countries?

In Canada, legal weed is more expensive than black market so its keeping BM prices from falling out but that will change in time. Even still, you would have to be out of mind to build an off-grid grow here.

Legal weed is 10-15$/gram plus tax. You can purchase up to oz but your paying straight up no bulk discount.

Seems like every third house has solar power in Australia now. 10k interest free govt loans to install along with the prices coming way down in recent years.
I was watching Q&A last night on the telly and they were saying that there would not be a new coal fired power station built here, its just not economically viable with renewable energy being a better return and less expensive for the end consumer.
