Haha , guess we think alike as I just did the same. I guess the surface of the diode hazes over similar to the way these newer plastic headlights in newer cars are doing.

You're talking about the LM301B, that you could see it diminishing over time because it doesn't have the coating? I think that's probably true, though maybe more/less so depending on how you run your grow space. I don't use sulfur and don't splash nutes around, but might do a spray every now and again and that could take its toll over time.

People in the know (hlg and god ol Teknik) seems to say 301h is the same as b, theres is no data supporting anything re coating. Just a few more cents a diode for the h
That's interesting, could be a case of false advertising? Idk though, isnt samsung making this claim? Honestly cant see samsung making false claims, not like they need the money.

Thanks I looked in to the Kingbrite again - either will do fine I guess - both seem to list endless versions of the same/very similar thing though.
I really want to order one in the next 24 hours given the shipping times but I just don't know which one to pull the trigger on and am open to being easily influenced by anyone who makes even the slightest suggestion with good reasoning.
I'm totally clueless - the Kingbrite for example list their new 2020 Quantum Boards - should I just buy the very first one on the list? It comes with UV/IR on/off switches by the look of it. They all sit at the $360-$380 mark.
Found the datasheets and other than the options under "chromatically bins", all the numbers and color charts are the same.

-Overwhelmed by the amount of options/models and don't know much about the technology.
-Want to replace a 600w hps.
At the moment I'm weighing up between what seems like Meijiu's go to plug-n-play 480w options.
Should I go with either of these products?

Why not just replace the 600 watt HPS with 600 of LED? Same power consumption, but upping the ante a lil bit.

if you guys had to choose a veg light, which would seem more beneficial? 4000k lm301b or 4000k lm301b + epistar 660? I’m giving my brother my 4000k and I’m looking for a new veg light. Curious if the epistar 660 is worth it.

I think it was hlg steve who said its the same. The reasoning i heard from tek was that if its really different why dont they show or share any data on it? How much does it protect? What was the test conditions?

If it is only going to be used for veg, I would just use the 4000K. The added red from the 660's could encourage stretching.
I have no idea myself, just guessing on my part. I do feel samsung is an honest company and the H is different in that respect. I havent even looked at the data sheets, they should be nearly identical and its possible only a build sheet would distinguish between the two. Personally, myself, would just go with the B diodes, I guess there are folks with certain ipm's or greenhouses, folks that make use of sulfur that might could benefit. I do agree that folks considering these need that data to weigh the options and real world benefits. I would wanna know my money was well spent and not just take it on their word. Even if it is Samsung!

Yeah I had that thought too but was thinking about trying out mainlining and wondered if the added red would speed up growth
Those reds will definitely put more lumber between the nodes. The benefit is mostly strain dependent. That's whats so great about adjustable reds and blues, using different grow methods from screened to unscreened is just a turn of the dial. Those 3 channel sunboards would be nice if one was changing methods regularly, even moving from veg to flower.

I know, it’s pretty sweet. I’m trying to see how many I should add to my flower light to act as my supplemental 4000k in addition to my 3000k qb288’s with the cree 660’s
