Cheap But Reliable pH Meter

Shipped like they may have been wet and it dried out leaving a salty residue.
That sounds about right, haha. No doubt. Ok cool.
I would recommend Apera if they didn't screw me on a warranty issue.
I've been looking at them. I do like the types that aren't pens though, so you don't have to hover over it. Something with wired probe(s).

Stored in Bluelab KCl solution. Shipped like they may have been wet and it dried out leaving a salty residue.
From what i read it's an allow that's why it's fast.
The new round top ones with replaceable probes came wet? Do they require a solution? Becuase the flat cheapy ones use similar probe and it just says to rinse and cover it.

Ever since my first blue lab ph probe for the guardian monitor stopped working I’ve used a cheap 10 dollar ph probe of amazon. Never had any problems. Rather than calibrating every 6 months I buy a new one to be sure it’s accurate
Yep. that's what I do.
I buy at least two or three at a time so there's always one on the shelf.
I spend a little bit more than $10, but no more than $20. I like those yellow and black ones.
I find that if I spend $100 on a ph pen, it lasts about two months.
If I spend $15 on a ph pen, it lasts about eight weeks.

Yellow and black one is the one I use works perfectly fine. Just wish there was a Ppm meter for 10 dollars

...How many weeks are in two months? Haha. (Just worded funny.)
Agreed, unless you are color blind like my girl is. lol
Would each individual color be a different color of the spectrum for her? Does colorblindness actually diminish the "amount" of colors one can see, or just change the colors you do see for other colors of the spectrum? Just wondering if, hypothetically, you could still use such a color drop system except for the color blind person 4.0 being "red" would be "whatever the fuck color they see". Maybe this doesn't make sense, and I'm sure if way over simplified.
I use a blue lab guardian atm I just move from tank to tank. I’ll buy one and compare
Is the bluelab guardian's pH probe the exact same pH probe as goes with their "combo" meter? It looks to be the exact same probe/part. This kinda intrigues me.

My Oakton ph1was pretty reasonable in 2009 & is 10 years old now . I just keep it calibrated & clean the probe occasionally with warm soapy water :bigjoint:
