I am looking to purchase a light for my 39"x39"x70" (3.25 ft x 3.25 ft x 5.83 ft) tent. The tent area is 10.5625. 30 watts * 10.5625 = 316.875. I will use the light for the entirety of the grow cycle. The HLG 300 V2 is selling for $886.36 CAD (taxes & shipping included) while the 320W XL QB V2 R spec LED Kit is selling for $754.20 CAD(taxes and shipping included.) The 320 watt is rectangular and the 300 watt is square.

Is there a PPFD chart available for a 400 W metal halide lamp?

Other than HLG or Spider Farm, are there any other reputable brands that sell lights having the L301B or L301H LEDs for the Canadian Market?

Man, I love shopping in Canada with American dollars, LoL! But seriously, if I am up in Quebec and I want to buy Samsung tech, its best to hit up alibaba because you will pretty much get the same quality of LM301B kits as the U.S. based companies and get a better exchange rate at the same time, and best of all everything is always in stock, ready to ship....

Example.... KingBrite (Alibaba)

2 x 240W lm301B 3K with red kits = 240.66 x 2 = 481.32 + 68.45 shipping = 549.77 Canadian to your door!

OR if you feel like building it your self...

2 x double 288 heat sinks, 17.85 x 2 = 35.70, (they will give you plenty of screws to mount the 4 boards)
4 x 288 3K w/660nm, 35.37 x 4 = 141.48, (they will include enough wire to wire the 4 boards)
2 x HLG 240-48B, 48.75 x 2 = 97.50
3 x ip67 connectors, 3.97 x 3 = 11.91
4 x hangers kits, 2.65 x 4 = 10.60, (each hanger kit includes the rachet hanger and one side of the board hanger mount)
shipping to your door = 74.35
equals... 371.54 Canadian to your door!

Saw this on amazon the other day, it's cheaper than ordering from Alibaba for a 480w kit assembled.

If funds aren't a problem, another option would be 2 hlg 260 Rspec's turned down. They're $470 a piece, so $940 for 2. Kinda overkill, but that's probably what I would do, but I also tend to go a little overboard with this hobby. I have 2 260 Rspec's, a 135 Rspec, and 3 100's and am really happy with them. I wouldn't get Chinese lights myself, but they are a lot cheaper.

are you saying its more ideal to get 2 hlg 260 Rspec's turned down instead of 1 HLG-550 grow light? Thank you for your feedback.

What is a red kit and is it easy to install a red kit on your light when it comes time for flowering?

Nope none, bought a ton of led lights over the years from reputable makers to Alibaba sellers and there ain't much difference in them except for efficiency. I build all my own lights now they all grow good weed, the rest remains on the grower and the genetics.

If you are handy.. Digikey in canada have cheap bridgelux eb gen 2 strips ($7 per 2ft). You could get the meanwell driver about $110 (320h 1050ma) and wire 12 with wago in series..thermal paste..sheet of aluminum.. Looking at $350ish cdn..

Which led lights have been more efficient than others? and by efficient, do you mean they produce more Micromols/joule?

do you have a link for this specific setup? There are many products on the KingBrite Alibaba website and I don't know how to find that particular product having the red kits. Also, is there a shopping guide for kingbrite products on alibaba for newbies?

These are nice. I saw them in the hydroponic shop here, and they seem like well made stuff. The Co. is out of Ohio. The owner of the shop has been carrying them for some time and has only had 3 come back. Two were operator error, and the manuf. replaced free of charge. That's the kind of stuff that makes me want to do business with a company.

I said 2 units its 240 ×2 480 watts they even come with a dimmer

They even drop the price so i dont have to pay extra fee .

This is a good deal. I saw this earlier this year, and I'm actually looking to add this next year.
