Buying used grow equipment

If you were to buy used grow equipment, not necessarily from a store or friend, but somebody on Craigslist. They have a lot a lot of stuff. More stuff than I’ve ever seen (went and checked it out today).
what used equipment do you think would be ok to buy and not feel like it’s gonna Break or give out soon.
flood tables?
ballasts?
Fans?
reflectors?
Irrigation pumps?
Water pumps?
Uhh... anything else you can think of?

Ballasts and reflectors, both were a great deal and worked out fine

I’d buy everything but the pumps. I have outfitted a spot or two that way. All ballasts I bought were still under the manufacturers warranty. Besides that I haven’t had many ballasts actually fail.

I bought ballasts off eBay and they smelled like the nastiest mildew infection you could possibly imagine. Had to throw the cords away they soaked up the smell of bad it could not be removed by repeated isopropyl soaks.

I wouldn't buy shit from Internet growers unless you plan on completely disassembling everything and spraying with isopropyl and a formaldehyde fog. Most these people are lunatics.

Well shit. I bought 4- 4x8 trays of the bontanicare. New is about 250 each. I got all 4 for 220. Some are a little dirty, but I planned on scrubbing the fuck out of the tables and either bleach water or maybe some peroxide water to clean it
