HLG 550v2 - VS - Alibaba light

well looks like I may miss my goal this weekend by divine intervention.

Wife’s Bday is tomorrow - won’t have the time to get anything done. while she was out tonight I made some progress with the lights...until I realized I wouldn’t want to hang them long ways....regardless here’s a photo update to help share mistakes most importantly...

Happy Growing

More headway. thanks for the patience everyone, not a FT grower like I was back in 2005 but I still love it!

Strain:
Hades OG

Medium:
Soil / FF Ocean Forest

Nutes:
GH Flora and other adds until
my Jacks 3-2-1 arrives.

So what we are seeing is 2 separate areas, one flower and one veg. i’ll elaborate more

Happy Growing

got the last few planted the other day, counting down until they take root and then i’ll flip when they start to take off.

Still need to get a 4x4 flood table in there for the last area of OG. Thinking i’ll just build another table on casters, can probably bang one out for:
$40 on lumber
$40 on casters
2 hours of time.

I’ve been looking around online for a 4x4 and shipping is insane. Looks like i’ll be visiting my local shop for a used 4x4 tray.

what up

Couple garden updates - waiting on a buddy to drop off a 4x4 tray to complete the area.

decided to flower out some old moms rather than keep em around. Started new beans as mothers a month ago but it’s always hard to let em go.

The bugger girls are Sunset Sherbet - there’s a couple Romulan sprinkled in there along with GG4

Nice. I've got 2 Sunset Sherbert's and a Green Crack at day 33 since flip. Did you buy clones, like I did? My dispensary has GG4 too a lot that I've been tempted to get. Here's a pic I took last Friday at day 27 of the Sunsets. I'll take more pics on Saturday, day 35.

I was gifted the Sunset Sherbert from a grower friend when I swapped him Forbidden Fruit a while back. I try and avoid getting clones from the store because I prefer to see the flower / plant first hand. And it also nice to have it vetted from another grower friend before I run it.

question, I’m getting some gnarley PH drift in my reservoir, I think it’s from my pump running and recirculating - any thoughts on how to eliminate or at least minimize the PH drift. I walk away and the Ph is 6.0 - 24 hours later it’s 7.1 - 7.4

Thoughts?

Sunset Sherbert is a pretty nice strain. Here's a pic I just took at day 35. The leds don't seem to be making them as frosty as the cmh did, but it's not over yet.

I looked on alibaba because I was curious. Here is a link to what they're calling a HLG 550 V3...for $281.70 US. That's a really good price if that light works out...https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Meijiu-free-assembly-HLG-550-V3_60841450354.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normalList.99.6b1f24a0VGUgdf

Don't forget shipping & handling.
And also import duties. With a small package customs lots of times ignore it.
But with a larger packet... less chance.

Also you can not trust their claims. Perhaps they use what they say, but there is also a chance they use different drivers or leds.

haha man....you guys crack me up.

since I bought 2 they incorporated all the costs you’re screaming about. my walk away cost to the door within 4 days shipping for 2 lights was $621.00

Just trying to educate and you’re screaming conspiracy. keep it cool man.

I don't think he's screaming conspiracy, he is just pointing out what is not obvious to everyone who read this thread. Valid points

Week 2 Update

Busted out the lux meter tonight and at the same exact height theAlibaba light was reading at 88000 while the hlg was only hitting 65000 so I lowered it until I hit 75,000 and raised the Alibaba lights to avoid too much light.

they are really thirsty the last couple days and it actually hit 80 today again, hoping for the weather to cool down, gonna hit em with some foliar feed tomorrow - some sea kelp and humic.

setting up another table on Monday so i can get the perpetual thing going.

Edit //

I ordered another light from Alibaba and should be here in 3-5 days - been so stoked with the performance I went for it and saved another $500

Stoked

Happy Growing
