Coco growers

I use Cannazym, Rhizotonic at Cannas recommendation, Boost at the low end of the recommendation until the last two weeks of flower and I kick it up a notch.
What is you EC or PPM?
I was around 650-675 ppm in mid to late flower. I'm in week 8 now and I've dropped Parts A and B and just using 2 tsp/gal boost and 1 tsp/gal cal-mg now. Right about 275 ppm tonight. Plan on going to straight ph'd RO water soon. Sounds like maybe I should be giving them more boost right now or maybe I missed the chance. I'm a relative newbie and this is my first try with canna coco nutes :)

I would not flush with straight RO, Cal/Mag to about 120 ppm, pH then flush.

What skunk said.
My tap is usually around 140.
If I had your tap, would probably use RO.
(I'm feeding Jacks at about 650ppm.)
Yeah Tim, I installed an 70 gallon a day RO system, it's the Home Master Artesian Full Contact system, it adds back about 50 ppm of Cal/Mag for flavor. I love it. The 3 gallon tank refills in just over an hour.
I got tired of going out and filling 5 three gallon jug every couple of days.

Tim, stage are you in with your grow, I like the 650 to 700 ppm for flower. I have been looking into Jacks. Cost is very nice. Do you still use something like Cannazym or Rhizotonic or Boost?
I guess what my question is Jack's is a full fert w/minors, but what do you have to add as supplements?

I got my assistant/apprentice started with GH Flora series and he is killing it at about half my cost. Not that I really mind the cost with the results I get, because if I was having to buy my cannabis I could not afford it. :(

This is my first run with Jacks. Was using Mega Crop with good results.
Here's my current grow.

I'm still learning, and trying different things run to run.
Low risk since I only grow for myself.

Yes I am low risk also, don't live in friendly state. Just grow my med's and my rec.

I use r/o as well....my municipal water supply is 700-800ppm,I add enough tap water to bring the ppm to150..
When I first started using coco I used brick of something, then went to Canna in the bag. I called Canna USA and told them about my water and that I was going to use RO but was concerned with the pH'ing problems with RO. They said to add my tap to get the RO to 120 ppm prior to begin adding nutes. Since I run low A&B I added Cal/Mag to bring it to 120 +/-. This helps me get the Cal/Mag I am losing from not using full rates of A&B

Ya I learned the hard way, using straight r/o,I usually add just enough tap to bring the ph to around 5.8- 6.2.. it keeps the ph stable as well.. pure r/o wild has ph fluctuations..

Do you think a single buffer is sufficient enough or should I double buffer?
I’m watching this video and the guy is double buffering.

Single if bagged canna coco.
Double if brick or unknown coco.

Oh ya. Me, I would skip the rice hulls. They can have dormant pests. What kind I admit I dunno. My Dad was a rice miller for many years. Deployed many a bag of rice hills into the outdoor garden.

Perfect. 1 is good for me lol yeah it was bagged. Ill prob go with perlite this round. Question.
If I’m going to a 1 gal pot, would I put about 20% perlite and then when I go from a 1 gal plastic pot to a 3 gal fabric pot, would I need to add 20% more perlite?

I use bricked coco. Normally Botanicare. I don't rinse it I just rehydrate it in a weak nutrient solution and use it. I never have any problems. I don't add anything to it and just grow in 100% coco, simple nutes, No additives, no calmag because I use calcium nitrate for the nitrogen source. I never have deficiencies. Just straight tap water right out of the tap when mixing nutes. Blumats so no drain to waste. Easy, trouble free, excellent growth and healthy plants.

Coco is great once you get it dialed in. Good luck:blsmoke:

I buy bricks and buffer them. I also use coir+chips+croutons and I'm liking that better than perlite, although the perlite never bothered me even when rinsing it. I also reuse my coco, but I do rinse it again between runs AND I maintain a rolling stock which I am always adding to. So it's never just the old coco, it's the old coco+new coco.

Yes I rinse it with cal/mag ph 6.0.
I use the same bagged canna. They say it's one of the best and is pre-rinsed/buffered.
Here a pretty cool coco site. Just of many.
https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/how-to-prepare-and-buffer-coco-coir/

(I still do a quick rinse with ph'd tap, and then a single 8+ hour soak in tap with about 800ppm of Calimagic. PH 5.8)
Guys, can you elaborate on your ph preference for buffering? The linked video says ph 6.2 or higher, but gives no explanation.

Also, whats the best ph for feeding coco in hempy buckets? I'm guessing it might be slightly different from various forms of hydro.

BTW, 5 gallon paint strainer bags are nice for Hempy buckets... after a grow just lift out of the bucket to rinse and buffer etc.

I don’t use hemp buckets,as I hand water in fabric pots on flood tables (dtw), so i can’t comment on that but I keep my ph between 5.8-6.4.
