I'd start them under LEDs at 2 weeks. I've never met an auto that I didn't like, to top. Topping is really required for autos to develop their form properly. It might be all touchy feely to let them grow their 'natural' shape but this is not a natural plant much less is it growing under natural LED. I've only ever not topped one auto and I regretted it every day. Definitely top one of those if not two. LST naturally follows from topping. Topping at the third node for three pairs of main branches is good, maybe do one at three and one at the fourth node and leave one untopped, then you'll see for yourself and gain direct knowledge, then when people tell you that topping 'slows down' your auto and will fuck it up because they are set to flower at four weeks blah blah blah, you can just smile knowingly to yourself and marvel at the bullshit.

Here's a couple of Jedi Kush autos at two weeks yesterday, just been topped, one at 3rd node and one at 2nd node because there's two in a pot. This give me more leeway to hack off branches and get a nice even canopy.

So what you're saying in this thred and the other is everyone else's methods are wrong and yours is right? Topping is definitely NOT a must with autos. The fact that some take it well does not mean all need it or will work with it. Topping is an option(i do top some as well), but don't make someone newer to them feel it has to be done when in fact it will stunt plants if done at the wrong time or autos that pre flower at 18 days.

@MATTYMATT726 So what you're saying... that's you saying that. I've begun a grow journal here but it's not populated yet, I'll have some stuff up over the next week. The point of it is to walk the talk as it were, because around rollitup, talk is cheap, toilet paper is expensive. Everything I say, is what I've worked out for myself it's direct knowledge, so yes I'm pretty comfortable with that.

Your comfortable saying an auto doesn't grow or yeild well unless topped? Yes you're right on. What you do works well for you, but you are the 1st person that grows and thinks clay pebbles are the best medium to grow in. You said this yourself. This section has tons of folks that grow in coco and FFOF. So we are all wrong and using the wrong mediums cause you grow in clay? What works for you is you're OPINIONS and not at all FACTS about growing.

@MATTYMATT726, you're a very difficult person to correspond with seeing as you keep saying I say things that I did not say. Instead of telling me that I must be wrong without giving any reason, a more sincere response would be to query me on what particular qualities does clay balls have over any other inert substrate. Then at least we could disagree but the reader would get useful information instead of pointless arguments. Yes?

I've just started an auto/hydro challenge if you've got one of the beans, we can battle it out

Clay balls is best medium period. 9 of 10 times autos want to be topped. You did say these things pal, but being that it was only last night and you forgot them already its time to let the OP decide his plants fate and me to keep it rolling.

Now boys. I’m a newbie and won’t be topping my autos. I already made the mistake of transplanting them and they are not growing fast enough. Lesson learned 3-4 weeks already. Also getting brown edges and spots. Used nutes first time Friday. image.jpgimage.jpg 4B06DDC1-7ADD-46CD-BC1E-0E95C5D2367D.jpeg

They may look small from the outside but they're larger when you're in them. What am I up against, I'm in a battle with a ghost plant and I didn't even know it.

One week later...
