*OFFICIAL* RIU TRUCKER THREAD

This thread can be for anything, but since I'm a truck driver, I'm going to post all kinds of trucking industry related things.

It's 430am I'm getting ready to leave for work and today I'm going up to Karnemaat Farms in Fremont, MI to deliver a truck load of apples that one of our OTR drivers just came in with earlier this morning from the west coast (probably Oregon or Washington).

I just got off the phone with my dispatcher and he said this delivery is going to be something I've never seen before. Apparently, the apples were loaded loose in the trailer and when I get to this farm, I'll pull my trailer onto some kind of lift/ramp and unhook, then watch while they tip the trailer nose up to the sky and empty all the apples out of the tail....

This should be interesting

Pics later today.....

I'm here, scaled in at 77,000 lbs signed in and waiting to drop my trailer on the lift. I'm waiting for them to empty a trailer full of potatoes, they're going to clean the belts and it's my turn

Not my trailer but here's what the lift looks like

As a kid our school bus passed a Frito Lay factory everyday.

Trucks on the lift were a common sight for us.

Actually it was more uncommon to not see the trailer on tilt.

I own a F-150... uh I don't think that makes me a trucker. Hell it's not even 4 wheel drive... I'm sorry, I shouldn't be here *sigh*

Is it weird that I'm Mexican and like country music? Alabama (the band) has a Confederate flags on everything, so does Charlie Daniels. Hell, one of his songs is about the south rising up...

Anyway back to trucks and trucking

One last note...
Why do crows only get hit by trucks?

They can only yell out, Caw, Caw!

No lol, I have spotted a few and they look pretty rough. I don't think that's anything I'd be interested in no matter how lonely I get.

I've had a tweeker at a rest area ask me if he could clean the inside of my truck for me though, I politely declined. I gave him the change in my pocket as a kind gesture.
Haha that's exactly what a buddy does with the lot lizards when approached. He often posts pictures of hookers doing jobs like checking tire pressure, cleaning windshield, mirrors etc. Cracks me up.

What's your go to pee pee bottle?

I don't have a favorite pee bottle or even keep a designated pee bottle in my truck.

There's a truck stop that's .3 of a mile from my shop, I stop in every morning before I hit the road and get a 24oz coffee (styrofoam cup wide mouth) to drink, I keep the cup in the cab when the coffee is gone, just in case.

I'm just a local driver and go home every night. I have pick-ups and deliveries all throughout the day so I get the chance to stop often. I've become pretty good at holding it if I have to go because I'll eventually be stopping soon enough.

Only once so far have I had to pee so bad and couldn't wait any longer. I was stuck in a traffic jam and knew I wouldn't be to a bathroom anytime soon, I just pulled over on the shoulder and used my empty coffee cup, then dumped it out the passenger door and rinsed out the cup with water (I always have 2-3 gallons of water on my truck for my dog) and threw the cup in my waste basket I keep behind my seat. Lifesaver.

Now getting back out into traffic in a backup from the shoulder was not easy, I had to bully my way into traffic again. Jerks wouldn't let me back in, so I crept along and slowly put my steer tires on the line and slowly edged the nose of my truck out into traffic until I could get the cab over the line and cut in between cars. I don't like to be a bully but sometimes you have to, I always try to be a polite driver

Good on you. Indeed you've gotta take advantage and get into traffic. Everyone is just too important to let that happen.

You need to save up some piss jugs just for those type of asshole.

Win win

Don't know if you guys have ever seen these rolling cb interviews, they're pretty damn cool

Here's one of my favorite ones -
Super nice custom rig, listen to the turbo whine, I love that sound.

Love the interviews with the old school drivers, the old timers are so humble. This guy truly loves what he does.

Check out his personal car @ 6:00 in the video, a sweet 1967 Beaumont
