Bud rot prevention

Ok so it looks like it's going to be a rainy harvest time of the year it's been raining every other day ! Not much but enough to keep me worried , any tips on keeping rot away from my buds would be appreciated ! I shake them off as much as I can also I was told about pruning, how should I go about doing that ? I'm worried about taking to many light catching fan leaves ! Also I don't want to cover them because they are over 9 feet tall !! Thanks in advance

I use Actinovate, and Natria Disease control. Natria Disease control has a smell so I stop using that the last 2-3 weeks before chop. Actinovate only last 3-4 weeks once you open the package so I try to use it the last few weeks, and it has no smell.
Natria is formerly known as Serenade...I get the concentrate version, and it last a few years.
They work great for me.

Would any fungicide work as a preventative?? I was always under the assumption that it was to treat fungus, not prevent it can you clarify thank you

It's used to control fungus. You don't get nearly as much bud rot as you could. lol I get very little, and I check my plants every 3-4 days. People say they lose their whole plant because of rot in that amount of time.
This stuff puts living organisms on the plant that kills fungus. most fungicides are only good for when you are there to catch the mold, but it could be too late by then. It's the same thing as BT caterpillar killer, accept BT's organisms kill caterpillars.

It's organic, and can be used up till day of harvest.

My question is though how much attention do you pay with safety precautions when you are applying it. Man after reading the package I am not going to lie was shitting my pants about trying to put this shit on. Do you use a respirator when your applying?

I know right? I was pretty nervous too when reading that. I did wear a mask and gloves. I would make sure I changed my clothes and took a shower right away as well.
Actinovate and other products work better when applied earlier in the yr when they are young btw

You act as if it's a guaranteed thing!!! I really don't want to spray my plants if I don't have to I'll be checking on them every day I hope I don't see any ..

I'm waiting on Cease brand bacillus subtilis I ordered from amazon. Expensive stuff but from searching all over the interwebs it seems like the best thing for botrytis and PM. Noticed though the only time I'm trimming out bud rot is a couple days after spraying BT, may have to quit doing that.

Wow, I have BT but haven’t had to use it for cat. Does anyone have a good pic of bud rot? I need to do a really good inspection.

Google bud rot you'll find plenty of pics. I noticed though the first sign is dead or wilted leaves, then the closer you look, you see the brown dead bud attached to those leaves.

Yeah that’s why I am going to save it for next year. In my reading up on it, it sounds like you want to start when you transplant and reapply often

Thought Actinovate was a rename of Serenade because they were selling dead bacteria, main reason I went for Cease.
