Vaping Warning by CDC Should Worry Cannabis Players

I bought a yocan version 2 for $40. It comes with one concentrate pod, an oil pod and a vape juice pod. The concentrate pod works well for flower rosin (160micron) and lasts me 3-5 weeks before I switch it out with a new pod. A 4 pack of concentrate pods only cost $12. If you aren't worried about spending a little $ on pods this little vape is quite awesome. I can fit it in my wallet and the only thing you have to clean is the slot where the pod goes in.
I have 3 Yocan vapes.
I have the dual one that has 2 double coil cartridges - I put shatter in both and it's a fantastic experience.
I also have one that looks like a DJII knockoff and has removable vape heads - I use that one with a bubble hash coil in a bowling pin shapedmouthpiece.
The last one is the Evolve Plus - I like it, but I think mine takes too long to heat up.

No reason to believe this guy has a bias........Move along......
It is more than just bias...

That is the exact same stance that they took back when cigarettes were shown to cause cancer and they buried it with litigation.

Tobacco companies are slimy mother fuckers.

1920's was the first documented research that linked smoking and cancer, after the war that evidence was confirmed in all developed nations within 10-15 years, yet it took till the late 70's/early 80's for any of those nations to pass laws to limit advertising, sales to minors, etc.

Don't listen to anything those greedy mother fuckers have to say.

btw... I came here to see what the community was talking about regarding these recent deaths linked to vaping... looks as those we are just as confused as the mainstream...

We need to start better defining "vaping", so that I can confirm I don't have to go back to rolling joints :P

Honey oil or pure Distillate's don't need anything to be inserted into a disposable cartridge. They are added in warm so flow in just fine.
The only reason to add anything is to please the flavor crowd. This is big!
People want flavors in these carts. Most folks aren't vaping these type pens like regular vapers do. Most folks have a few hits and are good for while.

This drives Matt Riot crazy. He says people are buying Snoop Dogg branded weed from the Bay area. This weed is sprayed with flavoured vape juice and people are paying top dollar for it. He says he has strains that taste 100x better without any additives but customers complain about paying top dollar for the seed.

Jeez I've never heard of that. I suppose you could mix the flavoring with water ( if it would actually mix with water??? ) and spray it on weed...but who would.
That's not what the terpenes are for in reality. The recommended amount for disposable vape carts is 3-8%

Honestly the recommended amount should be whatever terps come with the weed. If you're adding back terps you need better strains. There's a solventless extraction company in the states that claims they're getting around 15% terpenes without adding back.

I remember him from about 10 years ago. Have his breeding practices improved? I remember a lot of people called him a pollen chucker at the time. Then again it was when a lot of breeders were coming out so it could have just been bullshit to scare business away. I have a pack of Blackberry by Riot seeds I haven't tried yet.

I follow him on Instagram, I have not yet tried his gear but I have friends who bought a few strains not sure if they have run them yet either.

It sounds like you are able to add your rosin without any additives to thin it out?
That sounds too good to be true, i want to believe! I see they have an oil pod , juice pod, and CONCENTRATE pod. Would you mind posting a pic of the concentrate pod? the pics i found online have a black plastic cover over pod and i cant see what the inside looks like.

Anyhow, thanks for bringing these to our attention.

Edit: founds pics of concentrate pod online, been there done that. Its similar tech we have had for past ten years, ceramic or quartz wrapped in titanium coil. Similar designs i tried in the past would get gunked up very quickly and the taste would become very foul, very quickly. I remeber digging it initially , but i found myself coughing way too much. For comparison , i do rosin on my quartz enail, supper clean , and im not hacking up flem in the morning. Only downside is its not portable.
I have other concerns with these types of pods. Such as quality of ceramic they use, the quality of titanium, soldering material, and use of any potential adhesives and other undisclosed materials.

Well that all sounds nice but in reality that's not what is happening. I don't think you understand the market. It's sorta of complicated.
In an ideal world yes the weed would be so full of terps thats pink unicorns would be emitted with the vape..........and my ass as well. But after it's turned into honey or another oil and vacuumed the taste is sucked out mostly. Shatter is even worse for no flavor. I've smoked dozens of different shatters and they all lack in terp imo anyway. Compared to a nice honey oil I find shatter lifeless or not so pleasant as some can be. Not saying shatter isn't nice but Diamonds or rosin is much better imo. Anyway doesn't matter what you and I want this is what many others want.
BIG FLAVOR.....same as other vaping is. Oh it not big is it? The kids are vaping these giant flavor profiles huge in those things.
Well weed smokers want that as well. Only they want it in the THC form instead. This is not the same a a yokan or puffco or other concentrate pens. I have some of those. These are throwaways and not intended to be refill basically.
So in the disposable vape pen cart business they are several types of customers.

Customer by type.
1: The old school purist....only honey oil will do. Nothing added
2: Shatter cart customers. They like shatter anyway so yes in a pen as well.
3: Distillate Purist.....will only buy pure unflavored distillate...low in flavor or odor
4: Distillate strain flavor folks.....they want strains mimicked as close as possible NO flavor added. Just the terp profile.
5: Distillate Strain with flavors added. Mimick a strain and add bold flavors.
6: Distillate BOLD flavors folks. They want big bold fruit flavors in distillate nd don't care on it being strain related.

This is the range of carts available. The last two are the big sellers with honey third...a bird told me.
Young folks and ladies like the bold flavors the most....old kurmudgeons go for the honey.
But no one is immune.

Speaking on throwaway carts here now.
Honey can be added undiluted...so can distillate. So those who want pure get that.
But your correct if you want to turn shatter into a disposable cartridge ( and many are for sale ) you need to dilute it or thin it as you could say. I don't know anyone who put shatter in carts that doesn't thin it. Correct Sir!

Shatter without thinning can be done on a dual coil vape pan, but it's much messier. The coils are basically disposable due to how gunked up they can get.

Yes but those aren't the same thing. If you buy a good one it will come with a ceramic bucket. So no coil touches the extract. But again these are different devices.
Disposable vape carts and batts are a different animal.

Nah I understand quite fine .People who can't produce a good product are masking it by adding back terps .I get it for distillate, but otherwise it's a greasy practice. Solventless has come such a long way in the last 5 years in the variety of products that are made while retaining a high terpene profile. Especially people who are squishing high quality bubble hash instead of flower and turning that into other forms of concentrates.

So once again your expressing what you'd like to see. Or prefer yourself. But that's not what is happening in reality. As I said there are devices for those items. But the sales are in throwaways.
Convenience usually wins.
Look at the rest of the vape scene....ya it's not popular much. People want to please themselves and flavor does that.....it's not hard to understand that.

Totally, that's what makes this yocan a little better, the concentrate pod is only $3 to replace, so every 3-5 weeks I throw it out and pop in a new one.

It has nothing to do with what I want to see,(nice assumption I don't even use concentrates)and everything to do with what I mentioned, which IS how it is. People pumping out sub par products in the name of convenience.:bigjoint:

I have to agree. I have dealt with many vape pen producers and they often suck.
Adding back terpenes and some even worse flavouring techniques.
The snozzberry vape now tastes just like snozzberries.

One of the things I like about the one I carry now is that it taste like weed.
Hauling on a Kandy Kush vape tastes like a Kandy Kush joint, minus the smoke. (I get both flower and pen from the same place)
