Any idea on how to find a land race strain here? Going there in businessfor a week. Would be super cool to find even some wild shit and grab some beanies
Cannabis isn’t native to the new world so any “landrace” you could find wouldn’t really be a landrace like one from the old world would be. You could certainly find a plant that had escaped cultivation at some point, although the chances are very small and unless you’re gonna wander through other peoples property it’s not gonna happen. Not tryna rain on your parade or anything but just speaking from what I know. I wish you the best of luck with it however, and I hope you find some conquistadors dope growing while there lol.nobody does what the strainhunters did? Cmon boys!
The concept behind the few purported American land races is that their genetics were sourced from pure Sativa/Indica genetics in the old world in the 1600/1800s when it was brought over here, however there isn’t much to substantiate that concept. Hybridization of Sativa/Indica has been occurring pretty much continuously since it came into cultivation, not necessarily always occurring but the chances of any one strain being 100% Sativa or Indica are nigh impossible unless you’re gonna do some trekking in the Himalayas or Afghanistan.I figured since it’s in the equator there would be a native landrace. There claims to be “original Bri Bri “ which was Central America sativa but sounds like it’s bs from what you guys are saying
